About Me

  • Gender
    Female
In 2004 I was in a very serious car accident that left me with chronic pain and life long injuries . Those injuries were a hindrance in exercise and a catalyst in weight gain. In 2012 I was DC with diabetes after having a few months of feeling really bad, my eyesight dismissing, having increased neuropathy, and showing signs of apnea. After 2 years of low carb diet and medication ( allergic to all the pill medication so on insulin) I've not been able to keep my levels low enough, and it's slowly destroying my eyes. Insulin is also a catch 22 situation. You use enough to keep your levels low and Grenlin is ramped up so your physically hungry all the time and rarely get full. Don't take enough and your not feeling starved all the time but your levels go nuts and the I'll effects get worse. So I pleaded with my doc for something to help the hunger. She recommended bariatric surgery saying it could put me in remission. I never thought about having it for diabetes, and didnt think insurance would pay. So I agreed and went to the info meeting. With all of the information given I found I'm excited to become healthy. I also found out that even though out of the 100 people there I was the smallest, I'm 100 lbs over what is considered normal. At 5'2" and 207 lbs I have 100 lbs to lose but everything to gain.
