I had a gastric sleeve plus a duodenal switch (actually a modified version of the switch they call "SIPS" which doesn't cause as much malabsorption) a few days ago. I considered bariatric surgery for years, but was intimidated by the possible complications and the side effects. But finally, my arthritis has gotten bad enough that I have to relieve the weight on my joints.

I'm following all the post-op instructions. I'm consuming only liquids, including V8 and a protein shake. My abdomen is horribly sore. I hope that fades soon.
