  1. My energy has been really low today. The doc told me to be active the day after surgery and so I did a few errands and even went to my son's football game. I was so exhausted after that! I think I may have over done it. Today was the first day I could add shakes to my diet. I barely made it through 2, but I did notice that I perked up a bit after a shake. I was supposed to drink 4, but I just have absolutely no desire to eat anything. I am thirsty so I am staying hydrated, but I gotta try to get up to 4 shakes tomorrow.
  2. You and I will have the same "bandiversary". Sounds like you're doing well. Congrats! Let's keep in touch.
  3. You've done great! I noticed that you and I have a similar starting weight and goal weight. Just wondering....how much did you lose in your first 3 months?
  4. Im up now so it's fair to say my sleep has been weird. I have napped during the day and then my husband wakes me up to walk every couple of hours...not sure why. I feel good, I'm just up at 2:45am :-)
  5. I haven't had to use them yet, but my doc prescribed me meds. Are you sleeping upright? My surgeon said to prop myself up with pillows to help avoid shoulder pain.
  6. Oh yeah and I have to get up and walk for 5-10 minutes every hour as well..I think that helps quite a bit
  7. Had my surgery today. I was also instructed to sleep in an upright position. No shoulder pain at all yet. But I have had a little gas that's immediately relieved by the gasx strip. I guess I'll be keeping those in my purse for awhile.
  8. Yes, praise the Lord!! And thank you. ????
  9. Had my surgery this morning! So far I've had very little discomfort. Just some gas which goes away pretty quick with a Gas-X dissolvable strip. Sipping Water and watching Scandal. Hopefully I'll feel just as good tomorrow. I was expecting to feel kinda crappy…has anyone else had an experience similar to mine?
  10. Home resting and I feel pretty good. I don't have much pain at all so far...just a a little discomfort due to gas, but it goes away pretty quick when I pop a gasX strip.
  11. It took me 5 minutes into my consult to realize that insurance was not going to cover me without an extreme hassle. I just decided to self pay because my surgeon explained that the insurance companies use outdated information with regard to who should be qualified for WLS. Even if they cover you, it takes over 6 months of jumping through their hoops.
  12. I am self pay as well. My initial consult was on a Monday and I was approved 3 days later.
  13. Forgot to mention that my surgery was scheduled a week after my approval because I only had to do 1 week pre-op diet. Usually they have you do two weeks.
  14. I am self pay as well. My initial consult was on a Monday and I was approved 3 days later.
  15. Today is day for me too! Excited and nervous, but 100% ready.
  16. Congrats on going off the diabetes meds. So you've been able to lose 42 lbs in 2 months?
  17. How did it go? I have my pre-op appointment tomorrow and my surgery is tentatively scheduled for November 13th. Any advice?
