  1. I didn't mean to start a feud by creating this thread. I think many posters missed the fact that I stated how "disappointed" I was in myself, which diplays that I take ownership for my errors in this process for sure. With that being said I've made the decision to delay surgery. I'm restarting the liquid diet. Day#1 and I did awesome!! I can do this! With all due respect I appreciate all comments on this thread, whether I agreed or disagreed I still found value in the responses of others. Thank you all.
  2. Thanks. I'll have to take a look at that book. Gonna look it up on amazon. Today is better than yesterday.
  3. Well said thank you! God knows I'm flawed and have struggles, but HE has not given up on me or anyone else for that matter.
  4. Thank you. You are right. I have been struggling with food for years. This liquid diet was challenging because I started my period on the same day! Go figure. When I'm on my period my cravings for sweets and fatty foods sky rocket. So hard! But I'm gonna be honest with my Doc. and perhaps try again. So far so good today.
  5. Thanks, it's good to see that someone can relate. Alot of people are saying that I must not want it bad enough. Def NOT true. This week I was on my period and when that happens my urge for sweets and fatty foods increases tremendously on top of extreme hunger, and when I go long periods without eating (liquid diet) eventually I want to binge. Can you tell me if you delayed your surgery because of not adhering to it the entire time? Or did you still have surgery as scheduled and did the Doc have a difficult time? I would love to know thanks!
  6. Well I'm gonna stay positive. I still have 2 days before surgery so I'll to make these 2 days count. I also plan on being honest with my surgeon. I'm not giving up on myself I know God sure hasn't.
  7. I'm feeling disappointed in myself, because I have cheated every day on my pre op diet. I'm so hungry and feel I'm starving so then I end up eating. I wonder if anyone on this site had the same challenges and if so did this delay thier surgery or cause complications during the procedure?
  8. My surgery is on 2/18/15 which is on Wednesday! ! I am super excited! I have faith in God that my procedure will go well!
  9. I too am required to do a 90day program for Aetna. I have monthly visits with the Nutritionist and weigh ins every time I go. I think the main purpose is to set us up for success by prepping prior to surgery and by us learning new habits. Surgery is just a tool. I know a few people who have had it, but because they never took the prepatory program seriously they were shocked at how challenging it was post op. A few have regained most of thier weight back. I have been sticking to program , not perfectly but I have some new habits such as brisk walking 5x a week, more consistent water intake, more vegetables and protein in my diet, all of these habits will help me post op.
  10. I have Aetna and chose to deal with a clinic that specializes in Bariatric cases.
