  1. I would not have the band removed so fast, here could be other things going. Before you get yourself worked up consult with your physician and be guided by his/her advice. Personally I don't think your band slipped, I think that something else is going on.
  2. It really don't seem like you ate alot of food. some of the foods were bad choices. Your first six weeks with the band is the time your body needs to adjust to this new foriegn object. The post op diet is so that your body can adjust without complications. You have to be careful, because you can cause yourself to vomit, which could lead to band slippage. The most important thing is getting back on track.
  3. I was banded on November 14, 2007 and from the time I was banded until now, I only had about two small cups of coffee. I was a person who had to have a cup of coffee everyday.
  4. I PB alot since I had my third fill on Feb. 25, 2008. Thank you Frustrated, because I was clueless to the initials P.B, now I know what it means and I can honestly say that I do in fact have productive burping.
  5. Every since I was banded, I do the following all the times: hiccups, farts and burping. What do PB stand for?
  6. I got my first fill on 12/26.07 (2cc), second fill on 1/30/08 (2cc), had plenty restriction for three weeks. After three weeks that died, had 1cc put in today 2/25/08 for a total of 5cc. On liquids right now and feeling some restriction when I drink water, I hope this works.
  7. I have the same band and I had my second fill on Jan. 30, for a total of 4cc. The restriction was unbelievable, but after two to three weeks, it does get loose. You will have some restriction, but not as much as you had a first.
  8. My doctor told me to make an appt. if I need a fill. He doesn't care if its two weeks or one month. He said, "If I don't lose the appropiate weight, then he has failed." I was banded on Nov.14, 2007, I had my first fill on Dec. 26, my second on Jan. 30 and I'm getting my third fill on Feb. 25. I have lost 22lbs since being banded and I was one of the smallest patients my doctor had. I only need to lose 55lbs to be at my ideal weight.
  9. Thanks for the advice, I am feeling a little bitter today. I believe I have good restriction. I guess it's a small price to pay, to be thin.
  10. I was banded on Nov.14, 2007. I had my first fill on Dec.26, 2007, for a total of 2cc, I had no restriction. On Jan.30, 2008, I had my second fill, for a total of 4cc, I now feel pain when I drink water on any liquids, it almost feel like its going to come back up. I really don't want to get an unfill, because it only been a couple of days.
  11. Today my Dr. put 2cc in my band for a total of 4cc and I'm feeling restriction, but he also told me that if I feel like I don't have any restriction, I should make an appointment to get a fill, he does not care if I have to come weekly. He just wants me to have restriction and if I fail, then he fails and he does not plan on failing. Maybe you should express yourself to your doctor, because you deserve satisfaction.
  12. I had my first fill on Dec. 26th and I had no restriction. In order to lose weight, I jogged almost everyday and lifted weights at night. Tomorrow, I go for my second fill and I'm almost sure I will not have any restriction. I was banded on Nov. 14th and thanks to my will power, I have manage to lose 24 lbs, but sometimes I gain two and lose three. Don't give up, you can do this. Be patient, good things come to those who wait. You will get a good restriction eventually.
  13. Soniacan, your right it doesn't take much to get the feeling.
  14. After being banded can you drink alcohol in moderation? Please can someone advise. I believe that beer is a no no, because of the yeast.:help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help::help:
  15. Hey preciouspup haven't heard from you an a while, just checking to see how you are doing. Have you loss any more weight, since the last time I heard for you? I still hope I do as well as you, because you did excellent with the band.
  16. I got banded on Nov. 14th and I'm not feeling any restriction, either, so don't feel bad. I get my first fill on Dec.19th. Keep me posted on your progress.
  17. Bariatric Advantage offers a great multivitamin. In your search engine type Bariatric Advantage, which is an online bariatric pharmacy. They also have other great products.
  18. Good luck SJK, you have my blessings. Before you know it January the 17th will be here and you to will be banded for life.
  19. Went to my first post appt. Loss 9 pounds since banded on Nov. 14. I'm now able to eat pureed food. On my way, on my way. Anyone who reads my post and is having second thoughts on surgery, the pain is worth seeing the pounds go down. The pain last for a number of days, but the weight loss can last forever. Pride of my band.
  20. Jodi In KY, come to think of it my BMI was 39 and my insurance company paid for mines. I'm with Carefirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. All insurance companies have there own requirements. I called my insurance company and spoke with a representative, who advised the requirements that I would have to had fulfilled before the insuance company would pay for my surgery. Luck I fit those requirements. Suffered with my weight gain for the last 5 years, 6 month supervised weightloss program in the last 2 years, either 6 months straight or 2 consecutive 3 month sessions would qualify. Two health physical or health problems related to weight gain. I did not have health problems and throught because my BMI was 39, I would not qualify for the surgery, but I was approved.
  21. We all need each other, when going through his thing called weight loss.
  22. I was banded on Nov.14th, 2007. I know how you feel, there's no comfortable way of sleeping, other then an a recliner. As of Nov.21, my pain has eased. Just hold in there, theres light athe end of the tunnel.
  23. It's nice that someone else knows how I'm feeling. Whoever created this web site, did an awesome job. It's nice to communicate with someone who been through, what I'm going through. Thank you preciouspup for your great advice.
  24. Preciouspup, can you feel your port if you rub your hand across your belly? Will I feel my most success, after my first fill? I don't feel no restriction right now and its myself thats stopping me from pigging out. Can and can't wait to see the pounds melt away.
  25. With your BMI, no insurance company would pay for your surgery, unless you had serious health problems, steming from your weight. Other then that you could probably go to Mexico and pay for it yourself, then you could find a certified Lap band sergeon in your area and do your follow ups with him/her. My insurance paid for mines, but some people who was self pay went to Mexico and paid somewhere between $7000 to $8000, that may be an option for you. Maybe you can post on this web site, asking for information to the Mexican sergeon. I'm sure someone would be glad to give you the informatin and guide you through the appropiate steps. GOOD LUCK.
