  1. I was hungry on day 3 post banding. Plus, I had horrible diarrhea from the clear liquids only, and was very weak. I added 4 oz of smooth yogurt, once a day for a couple of days, and then twice a day. It made all the difference in how I felt. I used low-fat or full fat smooth yogurt--no chunks of fruit in it. I did a lot of research and saw that some lapbanders in England were allowed yogurt from the beginning of being banded, so I figured it was OK. You might want to check with your MD and see if that would be OK for you. Just a thought.
  2. I'm so sorry that happened to you! Not sure if this will make you feel any better, but I had a PB episode that lasted 3 hours (salami) and a couple of months later I had one that lasted 2 hours (pizza crust). For me, there is a definite hormonal component, the week before my period I have to be super careful. Reading your post, I will avoid broccoli, too. Thanks--Jigglypuff
  3. Hi Pam, My situation is so similar to your post--banded the end of July, lost 12 lbs quickly, but when I started eating, not really anymore weight loss. And gained a couple of lbs back! Going for a fill in two days. Hope things will be getting better. Feel like I should have lost more weight by now. How's it been since you had your fill? Is it a big difference in the way you feel? Thanks--Barbara
  4. Hi all, I was banded on 7/27/05, in Mexico. Lost 12 lbs in the first 2 weeks. Once I started eating, I felt like I am eating less than before, but I can eat a good amount. Now I am practically 2 months post-op, and the scale is only 10 lbs down (gained back 2 lbs! First fill is Monday--a bit of anxiety about that! But also, I feel like most people would have lost a lot more at this point. I haven't made the time to exercise in the last 2 months--would that have made all of the difference? I had really hoped to be down 20 lbs by my first fill. Any input? Anyone else with a similar experience? Will they give me a bad time when I go in for my fill? Thanks--Barbara
  5. I, too, have been hungry on the clear liquids since being banded, and I am only 4 days post op. Yesterday I had some vegetable soup broth. but then I took a couple of tablespoons of the veggies/noodles and mushed them up and mixed them in the broth. Today I am very worried that maybe I have caused slippage of the band! Could you comment? Has anyone else not exactly followed the clear liquid diet?
