Woohoo.....Things are finally moving a long. Just received a phone call this morning to book my pre-surgery class and meet the surgeon on February 10th. A few months after that and my new life will begin!!

Thank you jcmo.....I've heard that too. This is why I try not to get too excited.

At my latest appointment at the WMC clinic I asked them why it was taking so long. I was told that they are getting better with the wait times. I hope to have this done soon too.

@@jcmo : I have heard this before that some people have been waiting almost 2 years. I find it a bit long but if it means that we have a better chance of success, I am all for it! Glad to hear that you are almost there....keep us posted. I wish there was a pre-op support group that we could attend. It would give us all the chance to meet others and share.

@@anewme15 - I started the process with the information session in January 2014. Met with NP, had ultrasound, endoscopy and then dietician & behaviourist. I am now waiting to hear from the booking clerk. I was told that I might be booked for the pre-surgery class in January. I am so excited! I am lucky because I have a few family members who got the bypass surgery (5 & 7 yrs ago) and they are coaching me. My wife is also a patient at the WMC. Because of her recent diagnosis of celiac disease, she will not be able to get the Roux-en-Y surgery. However, she is hoping to be a candidate for the sleeve. It is great to be able to have support at home!

Hello anewme15, I am also at the Ottawa WMC. I have done all my tests and now waiting for my pre-surgery class and meeting with doctor.
