  1. Thank you for all the words of encouragement! I'm taking it one day & one pound at a time, but it's not easy. I know this is a mental, physical & emotional journey so I'm doing my part to stay healthy in all areas. I'm so encouraged (and motivated) by your weight loss successes! I'm terrified of getting on that scale & not seeing it move down. So glad I found this forum -- there's really good advise & support on here!!
  2. PSRS520 -- waiting is both exciting & difficult! BCBS approved me in 5 days. Best of luck on your journey & be on the lookout for a thin white envelope -- that will be your approval letter. ???? Call your doctor's office to let them know you were approved -- if you don't hear from them first. This will speed up your surgery date.
  3. Gowalking! Your journey & success give me hope that I will also have success! Thank you for sharing & I wish you continued success.
  4. Good morning! I had to do a 14 day pre-op liquid diet -- low sodium broth, sugar free jello, sugar free Popsicles & Italian ice, fudgsicles, tea (no milk or sugar) & water. That's it! Believe it or not, time flew by & as I started to lose a few pounds, it didn't feel so bad. Whenever I was struck with a need to eat something (real food), I'd remind myself why I was doing this & I would find something else to do -- just kept busy! For me, I missed the feeling of chewing something -- after the first few days, it was easier. Whether chubby or obese, getting healthy is the ultimate goal. Best of luck to you & hang in there!!
  5. Let me clarify as I think my post reads funny -- I lost 13 pounds on my pre-op liquid diet, 10 pounds lost since being banded 3 weeks ago. Total of 23 pounds.
  6. I became an official lap band member on September 5. I'm down 23 pounds over the last 5 weeks. While excited about the weight loss, mentally I can't help but challenge myself & ask if I should have lost more? While speaking with my doctor yesterday (received my first fill!), he was pleased with my progress. So much of this journey is emotional! Is there anyone else who feels this way?
