  1. Thoughts and prayers for your recovery. And lots of understanding for all of your mixed emotions.
  2. I hadn't heard about robotic surgery. Is that laparoscopic?
  3. I guess I am fortunate in that my surgeon isn't making me do a pre op liquid diet until the day before. He says there will be enough of that after the surgery. Ha! I find it interesting to learn how different some surgeons are from each other regarding meal plans and such. Counting myself lucky.
  4. Hi guys! My name is Alisa. I am just now checking in to this group. My surgery is in just one week, on the 24th. So glad to hear you are doing so well! Looking forward to getting to know you and to forming a support group with the other September babies.
  5. Hi! I am coming in late, so your surgery is already over. How did it go? I will hope for a speedy recovery for you. My surgery, a RNY, will be in exactly one week. Wed the 24th. Looking forward to comparing notes on our progress!
  6. Hi! Love that comment about Oprah. So true! I am 53, and going for surgery in one week! I am excited. Hoping I have gotten everything I need for when I get home from the hospital. Flavored waters? Check. Bariatric Vitamins? Check. Protein powders and drinks? Check. Crystal light, decaf teas, herbal tea, decaf coffee, sugar free Popsicles, mixer cup, sippy cups, Water bottle, S/F pudding, fat free Soup and broths. Organize bedroom and nightstand.... Uh, not yet. And clean sheets! Any other advise as I go to get reborn and start on the new me?
  7. I wondered about that too. When people tell me I look years younger than I am, I think to myself, it must be the fat cells plumping out my wrinkles. But I am not moving as well as I used to, and I am slower and more careful in my gait. I have more trouble getting up and down off of the floor. I have to wait back at the car instead of going on the hiking trail. Given all of that, and the health risks of being obese, I think I will take looking my actual age for once. It really is more about how I feel inside that counts, right. I start my journey in one week.
  8. Hi! I am 53 yr old, I am having RNY next week on Wednesday! Excited to get going, and scared a bit too. When I planned this surgery I didn't plan on having 3 adult step kids move in with us this summer! We have boomerangs. I am not sure how to make everything work with my recovery, but I have waited so long to do this that I don't want to put it off any longer. Looking forward to getting to know you and everyone else!
  9. I would LOVE to have a copy of your list! Alibye1@yahoo.com. Thank you thank you!
  10. I am scheduled for the 24th. Good luck to everyone!
