  1. Hey Alex and welcome. Follow your doctor's orders as far as exercise is concerned. I was allowed to begin cardio 1 month after surgery and weightlifting 1 month after that. If this is your first experience with weightlifting, take it slow. Work out intense but work out smart. Listen to what your body tells you. Mixing cardio into the weightlifting will accelerate the weight loss. I ended up losing my 130 lbs in 7 months using this technique. The other thing to remember is that you must still fuel your body even though you are trying to lose weight. Protein is your friend especially in liquid form...these will pass through the sleeve quickly and absorb rapidly. Dont neglect carbs either, in moderation. Carbs will provide the energy your muscles need to lift those heavy weights and will replenish glycogen stores in the muscle tissue after you've exercised. Best of luck to you and don't quit...ever!
  2. Hey buddy. Heres something that might help. The gastric sleeve will greatly minimize how much SOLID food you can eat however, i found that by increasing the amount of liquid protein that I consume I have been able to lose the weight and pack on some decent muscle mass. So what I am saying is increase your protein intake by 1- 1.5 gm per pound of IDEAL body weight but use liquid protein sources in addition to solid foods since the liquids wil go straight through your stomach pouch much quicker. Its worked incredibly well for me
