NSV shout outs
Two and a half weeks post surgery and I was able to fit into a fitted woman's top for the first time without it looking like I was a stuffed sausage!!! Stairs are easier, more energy, my rings are starting to fall off my fingers, my underwear is too big!!! I'm loving me now, which I haven't felt for a loooong time!!!

GOOOOAAAAALLLLL!

Working on success
Wow!! Congrats on the loss so far. You're an inspiration!

New to fifties group
Regarding the shots - I was sleeved on 9/23. I was given one shot of Heprin pre-surgery, and one post-surgery. In the abdomen, for clotting. No more has been mentioned about it. I'd ask your doctor, one less thing to worry about.

Sleevers 22 September - 28 September - Check in
I was sleeved on the 23rd. Stayed overnight in the hospital and other than nausea the first few days, I'm feeling pretty good. I'm easily drinking my protein and water, but I drank about a gallon a day pre-surgery. Still sore, especially when I cough, but I'm down 13 lbs!!
-
Still no relief!
What does your doctor say?

Wanted: September Sleevers!
I'm having a hell of a time getting in all the liquid too. Sleeved on 9/23. Feel good otherwise, but my throat gets so sore with all the drinking.

What is everyone NOT going to miss after sleeve?
I won't miss all of the things you have all listed above - especially the risk of diabetes and heart disease, which run in the family. What I'm greatly looking forward to is - being able to cross my legs! - being able to run around with my grand kids!! - being able to buy clothes off the rack in ANY store! - being able to wear dresses shorter than maxi length because I'm no longer ashamed of my fat thighs and calves! - buying a great pair of boots (or two) and zipping them up over my calves! - being happy with that person in the mirror! I'm certain there will be a hundred more moving forward. :0)

Feeling Brand New.....
This is exactly why I keep checking this site! I love to hear positive people!!! I know it's not a magic cure, but there are so many people that have succeeded with this, and those are the people I want to fill my brain with! So many negatives out there in the world - we certainly need to hear the positive!!! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts with us.

Day 1 Liquid Diet... Fun, but not really....
My doctor hasn't restricted me to the liquid diet. I just have to have a light Breakfast the day before surgery, before 9 a.m., they liquid for the rest of that day. However, in solidarity with my fellow September Sleevers, I'm doing my Protein shake in the morning, light lunch and dinner. I even managed to lose 3 lbs since my last visit to the doc. LoL! So far I'm pleasantly surprised that a Protein Shake and a couple of hard boiled eggs can keep me feeling full for a few hours. I'm sure I'll be dying by the end of next week after my surgery, but for now, I'm good.

Keeping it a secret
I have told my parents and my children. I've also told my boss and several of the gals at work. They all know there's a history of heart disease and diabetes in my family and are all very supportive. I haven't told my girlfriends yet because we have a 4 day scrapbook getaway in November and I want to surprise them!
