Truly don't know what to do

I will be six weeks post sleeve on Tuesday. I think the food situation is worse now then it was two weeks ago. I get hungry, plan my meal, try to get it down, eat a small amount and then get nausea. For some reason I am getting just full of gas or air. One bite too many makes me feel sooooo full. The only things that sit well are mashed potatoes with the packaged country gravy. Canned peaches in juice sit well. We have Smoothie King in our area and they have a child size with protein, electrolytes and extra vitamins which is the only thing I can eat with no discomfort. Don't get me wrong I would not change a thing and all is wonderful until it is time to eat. Who would have thought, before surgery I could eat anything and much much more than I needed. I guess this whole eating thing is trial and error. 32 lbs down since surgery Life Is Good!
  3. Incisions healing well. Will be two weeks tomorrow. Sometimes I have to remind myself I have really done this. Down 20. Feel hungry but after a small amount I am happy.
  4. Wow three hours after surgery. Where was your surgery? Are you still having pain? I start on puréed food Tuesday, can't wait.
  5. I was sleeved 9/30/14 going really well. Waiting for more food. How are all of the Sept sleevers doing?

    Day 10 Post Op Question

I also had my sleeve on the 30th. I called my Dr and asked if I could had food. They let me add frozen fruit. Call your surgeon and see what they say. Happy Sleeving.
  7. Hi to all 30th sleevers. Things seem to be going great. Pain is pretty much gone in my incisions. No longer pain in my upper abdomen when I eat. I am really ready for different food. Feeling great in my clothes, my daughter said she can already see a difference in my face, yeah! What is everyone else eating. I am still on protein drinks, liquids, oatmeal. Five more days and I get to add food choices.
  8. On the way to the airport to get Mom. Going to lunch. I can order soup and eat the broth. Down 11lbs according to my calculations. Down 15 if I go by my admission weight. Really would like to add more variety but I have a week before I do that. Almost forgot my one week anniversary. Still can't believe I did this Have a great day
  9. Forgot to say. --- can't believe I did this!
  10. Hi. I am doing well too. Not keeping track (better do that) of fluids but feel I am doing pretty well. Taking in as much as I can possibly get in. As long as I pee I think all is good. Keep sending my husband to the store to get different flavors of what I can have. Sleeping is hard I took 1/2 dose of pain med last night and that really helped. Been just recovering plan to see what I can do tomorrow. My Mom is coming Tuesday and I haven't told her about the surgery. So glad to hear from you. Please keep in touch.

    Getting sleeved 9/30 Keesler AFB

I was sleeved on 9/30/14. Feeling good. Some pain in my shoulder and pain when I eat. Dr says that will go away. Can't believe I finally did it.
  12. I had my sleeve 9/30. I was very careful when I chose the people I told. Just keep it to yourself and tell only those that really need to know. I called one friend who I knew would be a problem right before I went to the hospital. She was very rude and has not contacted me since I have been home from the hospital. Oh well, win some, lose some. I think I am her fat friend and that is the way she wants to keep it.
  13. I just had my sleeve done September 30

    New group for oct sleevers

I had my sleeve done September 30, 2014. Feeling good and excited. Had my surgery in Pontiac Michigan with Dr Pleatman. I traveled from Minnesota for my procedure . Arrived on Sunday , consult with dr and nutrition on Monday. Tuesday arrived at hospital for tests at 10:45, I think I had my surgery around 1 p.m. I think things went very well. The staff was kind and made sure my pain was under control at all times. A night at the hospital was included in my fee. This is a perk I did not find elsewhere. Got out of the hospital Wednesday afternoon. Staying in town until Monday as requested by the dr. One thing that is very important before surgery is to make sure you will be able to swallow your necessary medications after surgery. I take Effexor and kept being told it would be fine. Well all of a sudden after surgery I was told I would not be able to swallow the extended release capsules. Now I am cursing pills three times a day. So far Dr. Pleatman is an excellent choice. If you want a doctor who will chat and make small talk choose someone else. I was aware he had no bedside manner when I chose him. Also direct questions to him. I got a few wrong answers from his staff. Total cost was $11,200.00. Included everything!
