    slippage

I was wondering if you can explain how or why the band would slip. How would you know if your band is still in place? Any signs or symptoms? What would be done if the band does slip and cna it be replaced?
  2. Hi guys! I am fairly new to this website but have found it to be extremely helpful. I keep reading about protein in many posted messages. I am not sure if I have the right information, which might explain my extremely SLOW weigh loss. Can someone please let me know about proteins. Is there a certain amount I should be eating daily? Should I be cutting out carbs, sugars, etc? Should I be eating a certain amount of calories a day? I was never informed about any of this and was wondering if anyone was told something I should know. I was banned 4/20/2005, have only lost about 12lbs. and was adjusted (filled) two times already. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!! Am I doing something wrong? Any info would be helpful. Thanks...Anne

    April Bandsters where are you?

It's great to read how well everyone is doing. I was banned April 20, 2005 and have only lost about 10 lbs. I just had my second fill last week and am feeling more restricted. Does everyone weigh and measure their food? Someone wrote they are having trouble getting all the protein in? Is there a certain amount that should be consumed in a day? Also, is everyone limiting their carb intake? Please fill me in on what you are doing? I am getting discouraged! Thanks! Anne

    discouraged

No, you are not alone. I had my surgery on 4/20/2005 and have only lost 10lbs. I feel as though I have no food restirictions (everything goes down) and I never feel full. I just had my second fill (today as a matter of fact) and the doctor told me this is still an experimental phase. He said they fill in small quantities to make sure you are confortable and to see how your body can handle it. He said he has had patients that have taken 4 fills before getting the "full" feeling. Don't get discourgaed.....I am trying not to!!!! Anne
  5. HI! I just found out about this website and find it extremely interesting! I was banned on April 20, 2005 and have only lost about 10 pounds! I am having a hard time getting in control. Here is my life......I just had my third child (third girl) in Feb.. My children are 3 1/2, 2, and 5 months. Since daycare and babysitting are such big expenses my husband and I are fortunate enough to "tag team". I work all day (I leave at 6:30 and get home around 5:00) and he stays home with our children, when I get home he goes to sleep and gets up around 9:30 eats dinner and goes to work from 10:30pm-7:30am. When I get home it's time to make dinner, give my kids baths, get them ready for bed, prepare their clothes and food for the next day, clean up from dinner, do some laundry, prepare myself for work the next day and get my husband ready for work. (make his coffee, pack some snacks, etc.) I get to bed around 12:30 and I am up around 5:00 am. Someone usually wakes up in the middle of the night with a wet diaper, having to go to the bathroom or needing some TLC from a bad dream. Needless to say there is no time to plan, weigh and measure and certainly no time to excercise. I know this is why I am not having any success. I need to lose about 75 more pounds and really need some advice, support or encouragement...how do I banlance my life and find some time for me? Thanks....Anne

getting a handle on my life

Thanks for all the great suggestions. I went for an adjustment today and with that any all your great ideas I am looking at today as a new beginning. I lost another 5 pounds. My doctor brought to my attention that my weight loss is about 1lb a week. He said if I really think about it and keep going even at this pace, that will total up to 52 lbs. by next year. Seems so far away, but I guess I should be happy that I lost weight not matter how little. Thanks again for your support, advice and suggetsions.
