  1. Thank you for the advice, and support...It's not even really like I have to many carbs, we eat whole wheat pasta and whole wheat bread..but you guys are def right I found myself in phase 1 not craving anything no sweets no other carbs but now in phase two when I can introduce some into my diet I want sweets, and junk!!! I think I am just going to go back to phase one and completely eliminate them..I was never a fast good junkie I actually Can't remember the last time I had mcdonalds or burger king, so that's def not my problem!! And yes lipstick lady just one day at a time!!! I'm going to keep my head up and get thru this!!!! I'm hoping that the dr will see how hard I have been trying going to the gym and writing down everything I eat and will just let me schedule a date and heck who knows maybe I've lost more weight then I think(I haven't weighed myself in over a month,) so your right I need to take a new look on it and really try and push myself
  2. Hello everyone, I am in the beginning stages of my journey and am really struggling to stay on track with the Pre surgery weight loss, I was told that if I don't loose 12lbs or close to it I wouldn't be able to meet with the surgeon or get a surgery date..my insurance company does not require any pre weight loss it's the drs which I completely understand.. It just stinks because I know how good I'm going to be after the surgery!!! I'm struggling because I know I've dieted before and nothing has worked for me and I've been trying since I was 14 I'm 27 now, i do the typical lose 30lbs gain 60 back!! I thought this would be easier since I know how bad I want the surgery but I feel like I'm just on another diet that won't work....I did good with phase one of the south beach diet but since I can bring certain starches back into my diet I'm finding it hard to say no to a lot of them!! Has anyone else struggled? What did you do to get back on track??? Thank you for your help!!
  3. Hey kindle...it's not that we have negative people in our lives. Well at least in my case..I know people in my life would be supportive my not telling many people is a personal choice we have made because we don't think it's many people's business and would rather not hear the negative if they have something to say...I have tried to lose weight for about 10 years and have been up and down more times then I can count, so I don't think I'm "taking the easy way out" or "giving up" like some are afraid to hear I just don't think it's anyone's business what I choose to do with my Life and how I choose to improve it
  4. Thank u so much!! Great article!! Def made me feel much better!!!
  5. Had my appointment today met with my Np, nut, and physical theorist, go for my eod oct 8th, and go back for my weigh in oct 17th, and if I lose 12lbs from there I can see my surgeon! I'm so excited but I am a really picky eater, and this no carb thing is going to be very hard!! Does anyone have any meal ideas??? Thank you

  7. I everyone..I am in the very beginning stages of hopefully getting the sleeve surgery, I am 27 and still want to start my family wren my husband...I know you have to wait at least 18 months, I have my appointment next week with the surgeons and nutritionist and I'm going to ask the effects on pregnancies and everything but I was wondering if anyone has been pregnancy after their surgery and what precautions did you have to take of any and what was recommended to you..thank you
  8. Yeah I've waited a month just for my First initial appointment!!! The waiting game is going to be such a pain!! Lol I don't know what's ahead and that's what makes me most nervous

  10. Well that's great!!!!!! Good luck on your journey!!! Ya how long did it take them to respond? I was told 15 days before surgery?
  11. Ones anyone have empire plan insurance thru New York State??? I called them today and was told that per them I don't need a 6 month diet or to lose 5% this seems to good to be true!! I know my Dr will still Probley require a weight lose program which is okay! I was just wondering if anyone had the same insurance?!! I'm just beginning the stages and am having my first Appointment sept 8th!!
  12. Yeah I has to attend a seminar before I even got a first initial appointment now at this one in supposed to see the surgeons, nurse, nutritionist and theorist but I have no idea hat comes after that! My insurance told me today that they don't require me to be on any diets or to lose 5% or anything all I have to do is have he surgeon send a predetermination 15 days before surgery and we wait to see what happens, I was expecting to have to diet and lose weight and do all kinds of stuff so I have nooooo clue what to expect!!!

I know he will always love me for me it's how I'm going To feel about myself,I know that losing the weight is way way better for me and this really shouldn't be a huge worry but it is for me because I fear that I will just still not feel comfortable with myself even after making this huge change!!! But I know I'll be happier just have to see how everything goes

I am a newlywed and am very self conscious as it is with my husband I know he loves me the way I am and loves Me for who I am and what I look like now...and nothing will ever change that but I. Do worry that excess skin will make thing worse for how I feel about myself I don't want to have to keep myself covered up all the time just because I only feel good with clothes on it's hard because this is my only Worry about surgery
  18. I'm only in the beginning stages of surgery and I've already made the decision to not tell many people, I've told my husband, mom, dad, sister, boss and one close girlfriend just because it's no one business!!! I told my boss cause she said she will help me and be my work support! Obv I need to take time off so she needs I understand lol I don't think it's anyone's business but your own! And when ur losing the weight and people are saying your looking great just say thank you and move on! It's going to be hard but no one need to know of the journey you have taken!!!
  19. Thank you all so much for your input and support!! I'm so excited to start this new journey and be on a healthy and happy path in my life, I just want to feel good all the way around and have it be worth it u know!!

  22. Hi everyone...I am in the very beginning stages of finding out more info about gastric sleeve surgery!! I meet with all the docs on sept 8th for my very first visit!! I have a huge concern about saggy skin, I'm 5'3 and 240lbs, does anyone find that going to the gym and toning usually helps with this problem? I know you most likely are going to have it in places no matter what since u lose so much weight so quickly, but anyone know any ideas of how to avoid having it as much as u can?? Thanks
