  1. At this point I feel like I'm talking to myself but I will continue to do so in hopes that another Person having their surgery in Hamilton will see this. At this point, my Dr.'s referral to the Bariatric Centre is done. She planned blood work and a sleep study. Waiting to hear if OHIP approves me otherwise I'll likely self-pay. I'd love to connect with other Hamiltonians if you're out there.
  2. I just met with my physician and she has agreed to refer me to the Bariatric Centre (process in Ontario, Canada) so I'm officially on my gastric bypass way now. I was surprised how emotional I got in the appointment. I bawled and she handed me Kleenex after Kleenex. Anyway, I don't post often but I have been reading and following so many of you and I wanted you to know what a great source of information and inspiration so many of you are to me. Here's to discovering the true 'us' who exists beneath. Xo
  3. I don't think the wait times are any longer than 2 months for self-pay. It depends on the clinic and surgeon. Most of my research suggests 2-3 months max. Hope this helps.
  4. What a great thread! Thanks for sharing the pics. For pre-op newbies like myself you are all incredible inspiration! Xo
  5. Hi. New member. Live in Ancaster, Ontario. Pre-op. Interested in hearing abt people's experiences at St.Joe's in Hamilton. I'm also not sure at what point in the process OHIP makes it's decision for coverage. Feel free to DM if you wish.
  6. Hi! I just joined today. I'm 41 years old, live in Ancaster and I'm in the preliminary stages of gastric bypass- research and referral. I'm looking for local women for support and information, preferably women who are going through or have gone through gastric bypass at St. Joe's in Hamilton. Is there a local group or anyone open to chat?
