  2. Why would I feel guilty for doing the smartest thing I could do? Nothing else would have eliminated my diabetes or high blood pressure 2 days later? I don't worry about what other people think, they do not live my life. The important people have supported me from the beginning. I have not hidden my surgery from anyone and have shared my story with many people. I hope that if they feel it is the right decision for them their results are as good as mine.
  3. After reading the responses from everyone I see we are all over the board on this. As I read more responses the more people I told. I tell people in a matter of fact way that says I don't need your blessing. I have had no negative responses from anyone and most are happy for me. I realize some of you are not in the same situation and my decision is not right for you. I want accountability and if everyone is watching for success or failure it will help make sure I follow the straight and narrow! I hate to fail.

  8. I am kind of in the middle on this. My close family know and are supportive. I have told a few people at work so I'm sure by now everyone knows. To be honest, I don't really give a rip what anyone other than my family thinks and they are excited for me. We live in bodies that are ripe for diabetes, heart disease an multiple cancers. No one questions heart bypass surgery so why should they question barbaric surgery. I think that it would be awesome if my journey could help someone else.
