  1. Yes notified surgeon would not respond for a long time she had to have emergency surgery so at that point that hospital had to do what was best for her no the surgeons have not been involved they even denied that something was wrong with her stated the surgery went well
  2. Thanks so much everyone, I truly appreciate every word of wisdom and suggestions.
  3. My mother has been been in the hospital for 4 weeks and had been fighting for her life it has went from one extreme to the other. The hospital said they have been seeing frequent complications from patients having this procedure in Mexico and don't recommend it be done. Her small intestine was nicked and infection had set up, she has had several procedures and surgeries done as a result of this complication she even stopped breathing for 3 minutes but through this all God has her protected.
  4. My mother was rushed to the hospital with complications, an infection under a site and possible nicked bowel my mother is post op day 9. The doctors were amazed because her appearance did not show , Ct scan showed all complications.
  5. My mother is doing so much better I took her to the doctor yesterday to do a follow up visit since she had her surgery in Mexico. The doctor switched her antibiotic because she couldn't tolerate it, gave her a stronger pain medication with stool softener and added prednisone to decrease inflammation and maybe muscle spasms. They also did X-ray. Her appetite was improving but it's better doing more fluids her energy is slowly improving she even had her first bowel movement today. So I can say I'm relieved I was getting a little scared because I know how serious it is to stay hydrated. I thank everyone for there input because it really helped and I was reading a lot of the post to my mother and it encouraged her thanks everyone!

  11. Thanks everything helped stopping ibuprofen and just doing Tylenol for pain. She able to tolerate ice chips better so is taking 3.5 oz of crushed ice roughly ever 4 hours. Going to try and freeze juice and make it into slushed form and going to try chicken broth today. Did start multivitamin yesterday as well. I know with each day it will get better.

  14. Her surgery was done in Mexico, we do have local doctor. I believe the long flight back home didn't help cause she was doing better before the flight. I'm hoping tomorrow will be better after the adjustment of being home. Thanks so much all for the advice and tips, I need all the help I can get.
  15. Surgery was 30-45 minutes longer than expected so more anesthesia, no vomiting, she does not like milk, had a little Popsicle, a little jello, ice chips seem to be the best. Just trying to keep her hydrated. Fluids may be causing spasms but think it is something else too.
  16. Her surgeon suggested ibuprofen for the muscle spasms and inflammation. Liquids is still very hard 2-3 sips every 4 hours which is not good. Does not like the affects of juice. So today total intake 1/4 of Popsicle, maybe 8 sips of water, now ice chips.
  17. Hi my mother is post op 4 days please tell me it gets better I guess because of the long plane ride it was a minor setback. She is having bad muscle spasms but only taking ibuprofen was allergic to toroidal. So on Tylenol, ibuprofen, gas x, Prilosec and still having trouble with liquids.
