My name is Katherine, I am 29 (today actually Happy Birthday me!) I am currently on week 2 of my 3 week Pre-Op Liquid Diet. My surgery is scheduled for August 22 and I couldn't be more excited and nervous. I actually hate to admit this but I found this site while Google searching How to Cheat on Liquid Diet... Yeah not one of my better moments actually. I am also remiss to say that as of today, Day 8 of my diet, I am a cheater :( Last night I was taken out for my Birthday and I had some grilled shrimp and a piece of Grilled Chicken. I feel horrible about it because its my first cheat and even though I have already lost all the weight I was supposed to lose in three weeks (16.4 pounds now) I still feel as if I have lost my battle with food once again. I am so hoping that with the discovery of this site I can find a outlet for some of the things I am going through right now with others who have been through the same thing or are going through the same thing now. I work with Mentally Ill children and am told I am great at my job because I act like a big kid, I have a really upbeat personality and it really does take a lot to upset me. I am not a bored eater or a emotional eater, I am just a eater, I love to cook and I love to eat. I was raised by older parents on a very large Farm in the south and I learned how to cook from my mom. When I learned how to cook however it was for around 40 people usually and as such I have real issues with portion control and not cleaning my plate. I am now relearning things most learn as a child and I think it is one of the most difficult things I have ever done. So here is to believing and hoping that this will finally be the thing that helps me get healthy because after the years of pills, diets, fads, gym memberships where i'm to embarrassed to show up, and just starving myself to the point of binge eating, I think I have earned it. :D
