Low BMI and Gastric Sleeve
My BMI was 30, the cutoff for sleeve surgery here in Australia. My surgery was on the 8th September 2014 and is the best thing I have ever done. My recovery was easy and the weight has just come off slowly but surely. My BMI is now 22 and I feel healthy and happy.

BMI 31-32
I had my surgery in the 8th September last year. My BMI was 32 on the day of surgery. To date I have lost 44 pounds and feel great. There have been some stalls but i feel so much healthier now. I make good food choices most of the time but still enjoy my food ( just not as much of it) .

BMI 31-32
I was a BMI of 30 on my day of surgery last September. I only told two people, hubby, of course and a work colleague. I did have issues with some of the nurses who kept telling me that I shouldn't have surgery as I wasn't fat!! I recovered from surgery really well and have had a slow steady weight loss. I've not had any regrets. Oh my BMI is now a healthy 23.

Anyone approved with a BMI under 40?
I'm in Australia and its a little different here. I attended one appointment in September 2014, had a BMI of 30.4 and was booked in for VSG surgery one month later. I did not have any other medical issues of note. I've not had any problems with my recovery and have lost 20 kilograms so far. I now have a BMI of 23.6. I feel extremely lucky especially when I read all of the issues and costs (hoops you have to jump through in America). I wish you all luck with your surgeries wherever you are in the world. x

Hi luciana Victoria, I am so excited for you, I wish my surgery was tomorrow, it is booked in fi the 8 th of September. My surgeon feels the same as yours, just because I'm not morbidly obese, it still effects me on a daily basis. Please keep me updated with your progress.

Hi jdillon, good luck with your surgery, have you been told what weight loss rate to expect after your surgery?- I want to hear from others with a lower BMI pre-op
Hi guys, this is my first post and I am looking for advice and any information from anyone who can help. I have a BMI of 31 and am booked for sleeve surgery on the 8th of September. I am wondering what sort of weight loss I can expect, will it be slower because I have less weight to lose? I am really nervous about my surgery date but exicited at the same time, I suppose everyone is. I look forward to hearing you all. X - Will I be able to go out to a wedding five weeks after my surgery
