Hi, I had my Lapband surgery January 2, 2013 when I weighed 245. I had lapband surgery because I hadn't recognized myself in photos for about 25-30 years. I hadn't grown up overweight. It wasn't until my mid 30's after two babies and some extreme stress in life that I started gaining serious weight. First it was just 15-20lbs I'd gained and lost. I'd diet and exercise until I had almost lost it then I'd go off the diet and gain it all back plus more. All those years, I dieted and exercised on & off, lost hundreds of pounds and gain it all back, yoyoing until I was 100+lbs overweight. I had tried every way I knew to lose that weight. Among the many things being overweight brought on was that I couldn't stand to have my picture taken because it just never looked like who I was supposed to look like, I had to have knee surgery because of the weight, and I couldn't do a lot of things I once liked doing like hiking, golfing, etc. BUT, now since the surgery, I've lost the weight down to 169 and am biking, hiking, golfing and more. I was steadily losing until March, this spring. Then I had a fill that was too much and it caused some severe reactions, reflux and heartburn and I had to have an un-fill and let it heal up. I gained back a few lbs but finally got to have it refilled again. I'm back to 168 but struggling to lose those last 18 lbs. I'm coming to this forum to find some ideas, support and maybe share some encouragement that might help others get to their goal weight too.
