  1. Tomorrow is the big day for me and while the sheer anticipation of beginning this new life the fear of surgery, hospitals, and virtually everything associated makes me what to pack my car and drive off as far and fast as I can. I am approaching this with the added difficulty of a total knee replacement that has broken. My orthodox surgeon has refused to repair the broken knee until I have lost 100 lbs - I've lost 20 going into the surgery for 80 to go. Hopefully by Nov. I will be able to repair the broken left knee. The added difficulty is that I can barely walk. I'm hoping that as the weight comes off the knee, I will be more mobile and can exercise a bit. Is there anyone out there facing anything close to this challenge? I'd love to hear from you if there is - and wish me luck and strength tomorrow.
