So excited got my dates!
So excited I got my dates! February 24th I'm having my band and port removed and April 21st I'm getting the sleeve. Last step is having the esophageal manometery test for the insurance to cover the sleeve but my surgeon said it would be fine since he has all the other info for the insurance. In between the two surgeries I have to have an endoscopy to check out the scar tissue. I'm doing Weight Watchers right now as I've been gaining weight from having an empty band and soon no band. My surgeon said to stick to a diet so I chose WW. I'm also starting to see a therapist who specializes in food and nutrition so I can work on my issues with head hunger and hopefully make the sleeve a success!

Band was a huge mistake?
My Dr told me to meet him in the ER so he could remove my band fluid. I called him at about 5 pm. It was the third day I had been unable to keep anything down. They gave me IV Fluids and Zofran for nausea. I have had issues getting stuck constantly since my band was Unfilled. My dr says I have spasms of the esophagus. I took a barium swallow test and it showed me getting stuck. My Dr is fully on board with me getting the revision and I see him on the 15th, he wants to order some more tests for the insurance but says it shouldn't be an issue as I have been getting fills, going to the nutritionist, support groups, gym, etc and following protocol.

Anyone use Optifast 800 shakes pre-op and/or post/op?
I'm revising to sleeve from band and my Dr uses them Pre Op and Post Op. I like the taste.

Seeking mentor for band to sleeve
My Dr has come on board with my plan to get the sleeve. I have to get some tests and wait for insurance approval to say that the band is not working but I have sufficiently tried. My Dr said this could take a couple months could get everything in order. I was in the hospital to get an emergency unfill on my band yesterday because I was constantly throwing up. My mom just had the sleeve today. I am happy for you that you already lost 28 lbs that's great! In 5 months I've lost 15-20 lbs so the lap band really isn't working for me. My next Dr's appt is on the 15th. I'm used to the way you have to eat though and regularly meet with a nutritionist. It would be great to keep in touch feel free to private message me.

Band was a huge mistake?
Ended up in the ER tonight due to Band. Luckily my doc met me there. He is completely on board with me getting the sleeve and I've started my Pre OP tests and have my next appt 1/15. My insurance will cover it with proof that I sufficiently tried the band which shouldn't be an issue. So happy I will be moving on to the sleeve. Thank you! Thank you!

NOVEMBER CHALLENGE!
- Seeking mentor for band to sleeve
Hi I'm Rebecca, 28 year old married female from NJ. I got the band this year but am having stuck/regurgitation issues and extremely slow weight loss. My Dr has ordered a barium swallow for Monday so we can talk about revision. I wouldn't be surprised if he made me wait a while which I am okay with but so could use some support on the journey. If you could be of assistance/ be a mentor/buddy I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you!!!!- Band was a huge mistake?
I got banded in August 2014 liking the idea it wasn't permanent because I wasn't sure I would be able to adapt to the lifestyle changes. I have had 3 fills and am now at 8 CCs. I am in the green zone. I eat small portions and chew well. I joined a gym, own an exercise bike, and do yoga. I exercise most days 30-50 minutes. Since August I have had a fluctuating loss of 14-22 lbs. I get stuck on virtually all solid food. I had lost 120 lbs on my own before and regained it. Right now I have about 45 lbs to lose to get to my goal. I believe I need assistance and really wish I had chose the sleeve. I want something permanent that will be with me forever. I am dedicated to this lifestyle. My surgeon knows how frustrated I am with my standstill weight loss and regurgitation issues. I am going for a barium swallow to see how the band is, this is my surgeons first step in the revision process. Then we meet and discuss the revision but I'm a little worried he won't do it because he'll want me to give the band a longer shot. Thanks for letting me vent!!!- Your Favorite Treat!
Hey Everyone, I was wondering what everyone's little indulgences were. Not food wise, but to reward yourself for maybe a couple pounds lost, or even just to cheer yourself up on a rainy Sunday. It could even be things you use at home to distract yourself so you don't think of food. Mine are: A Venti Tazo Tea with Skim Milk, Honey, and Splenda from Starbucks or Getting my nails done. I don't have any great distractions. I definitely think of food less when I'm out of the house. But sometimes I'll ride my exercise bike and if I hit my goal, I'll go get a tea! - Seeking mentor for band to sleeve
