  1. I was finally given my surgery date, December 16th. I was told that I need to do two weeks of the pre-op diet. I feel like this is really going to be my downfall. I can't stand both. The mere thought of it makes me what to throw up, and this is without having to be forced to eat it!!! I'm going to be starting my pre-op diet on December 2nd, so I am extremely grateful that it will be after Thanksgiving, yet slightly bummed that it's before Christmas. I understand the reasoning for losing the extra weight and preparing, but I am feeling extremely glum about this particular portion of the change. I recently lost 6 pounds, however my family was going through a crisis and it literally came off from my lack of enthusiasm to eat. Anyone else feel this way, have concerns, issues, dislike certain pre-op foods.....
  2. So I went for my second nutrition appointment today and then had my endoscopy done. During my entire wait time I began to think why am I really don't this? I don't really have a desire to do the pre-op diet and I'm pretty sure that one of two things are going to occur after the surgery: 1. I'm not going to eat at all 2. I'm going to go back to my old eating habits, which are not completely awful. Today my nutritionist gave me a face because I told her in talking two tablespoons of a liquid vitamin. I really wanted to tell her where to go, but at in silence. I have zero time to exercise right now and easy to survive. How do you know if this is something you truly want to do? My fiance is Furious with me and is borderline ready to leave if I don't get my health under control. Thoughts??
  3. This is the hard part for me to wrap my head around. I'm going to be doing this for a long time after surgery, so why would I WANT to do it before? I'm so skeptical of the medical industry.
  4. Hey everyone! I am new to this community! I just went for my initial appointment on July 18th. I have started going for some of my doctor's appointments already and have most of my stuff planned out for what I want to do. My doctor said my surgery can be done in 3 months. But I know that it can take up to 6 months to get done. I'm looking for fellow Bariatric Surgery preferably Sleeve, that are in the beginning stages of appointments!

    Endoscopy?

Im curious because I am scheduled to get one next week. My doctor is saying I need to be put under general anesthesia, but I am reading that it's not necessary. Why would one need to be under GA and others not?? I would much, MUCH rather not!!

    Endoscopy?

    What is a Nutrition test?
  7. @@Angelkeeper4 I have Horizon NJ Health too. It's amazing because the insurance company requires nearly nothing for the surgery, but it's the doctors that want the clearances on everything. It's driving me nuts!! I feel like this is going to take forever. And on top of it, my boss is asking for a date for surgery or she might not be able to accommodate my entire time off and recovery (it's a new job, too!). The doctor only gave me an estimate of December (1st week or 2nd week). I don't even know if that's realistic based on how fast everything is moving along.
