  1. How has drinking gone for y'all? I've got my little cups of liquid in front of me, but not enjoying it. I'm trying to take little sips, but it's still pretty uncomfortable.
  2. Surgery was yesterday afternoon, all went well. I only needed 4 incisions, so that's good! But last night was rough! Gas pain was horrible in my chest, and nausea was awful, threw up a lot. Feeling a bit better this morning, thank God. Just did barium swallow test, so now trying to sip some liquids. We did it! Now let's get to the good part! :-)
  3. At the hospital, all gowned up, and waiting for my turn! Praying nausea isn't bad after surgery, and I'm ready to walk walk walk! And God, if you're listening, please make me not like sugar anymore!
  4. I am at the hospital, all gowned up, and ready to go! :-) Sure hope I don't have a lot of nausea after sutgery. And God, if you're listening, could you make sure I don't like sugar anymore. ..thanks!
  5. Good luck and many blessings to all of us! Praying all goes smoothly, so we can start rockin our sleeves!
  6. On my way to the airport now! This time tomorrow I'll be at the hospital. I've been waiting so long, it doesn't seem like it's real yet! I agree with @@MeganC , I want FOOD! My husband has Breakfast next to me, and I want to steal it right out of his hands!
  7. Oh! And Murphey ' s law is flexing it's muscles in my house right now! We are never sick, but right now 2 of my 3 have strep, I just finished amoxicillin this morning, and my husband (and travel companion) has a cold. Ugh! Need surgery day to hurry up and get here!
  8. I am finalizing the details at home today. It takes a lot of prep to go out of town for 5 days! We fly to San Diego tomorrow! Nerves haven't hit me yet...probably not until we arrive at the hospital! :-)
  9. Hi, Little Miss! I am scheduled for Sept 8 also! I just started my pre-op diet yesterday. I am honestly ready for this week to hurry up. I've been researching/planning/waiting for this for over a year now. I'm quite sure the nerves will hit at some point, probably when I get to the hospital, but for now I'm excited. I know it's gonna be rough for a while, but sooooo worth it in the end!!!
  10. That's great, Lee! Where are you having surgery? One week from today, we'll be DONE with surgery!! Make sure to hop on over to the thread I posted, and we'll stay in touch!
  11. Sooo....since we still have 6 days of fabulous pre op diets to survive, I'd like to focus on some of the NSVs that we're looking forward to. I know we all have several we could list, so let's share what you're excited about. Me? I can't wait to wear a pair of jeans (or anything for that matter) without my "front a**" hanging out! (I have a lot of extra skin from my pregnancies/ c-sections, and that coupled with carrying around extra fat...gives me a big pooch in front...like an a** in front. HATE it!!!) I wanna feel good and look good in my clothes! What's yours??
  12. Agreed! I am so ready to just get this done already! I have been researching/planning/counting the days for over a year...let's do this already! Started my pre-op today. That's not a lot of fun, knew this would be the hard part, but it's not too bad. This time next week, we'll be DONE with surgery!!
  13. http://www.bariatricpal.com/topic/317874-september-8-sleeves-thread/ There it is!!!
  14. Hi y'all!! The time has finally come...feels like I've been waiting for eons!! My surgery date is September 8, one week from tomorrow!! I was hoping to find others that share the same surgery day. We have a thread started for Sept 8ers, so we can keep in touch, I will copy and paste it in a comment below. It will be so fun to follow each others journey!
  15. Really not doing anything super exciting or fancy! I just want to go to one of our average places and get something that I won't be able to have for a long time. We're gonna go into Tyler, and go to BJ's Brewhouse (have y'all been there?) They have a BBQ chicken pizza (with ranch) that I really like, which is *clearly* gonna be a no no for quite a while. That and a margarita/yummy drink of some kind and.....waaalaaa food funeral!!! Haha!
  16. Lol, @@nowornever14 I am doing the same thing! It does feel like nesting!
  17. Woo Woo & Barbclay, I live in Palestine, TX. About 1 1/2 hour southeast of Dallas. We go into Dallas about once a month or so, to do the 'big city' stuff :-) Maybe we can meet up for lunch or dinner one day...but we'll all have to share a meal! Lol!
  18. Hi y'all!! I am so happy to have found this thread! I was looking to join the September sleevers group, and there is actually a group for September 8...that's my big day too!! Yay!!! I am having my surgery done by Dr. Garcia in TJ. I've been researching for over a year, recommended my Mom use him, so I accompanied her for her VSG with Garcia last October. She is doing great, and now it's finally my turn!! I start my pre-op diet Monday, so my hubby and I are going out to dinner for my 'food funeral' (Lol, that's such a funny phrase!) tomorrow night. MeganC, who are you having your surgery with? We are both flying into TJ for surgery on the 8th!
