  1. Thanks Jachut, that really helps a lot.
  2. I have been told that some insurance companies will pay for ps after weight loss. I called mine and they said that the docotor would have to send in request for coverage. The lady said that while it may be medically necessary for some, it may not be for others. Has anyone ever had insurance pay for their ps and what "symptoms" would make it medically necessary. I would love to get this part of my journey covered by insurance if that is a possibility. Thanks, Amy
  3. Jachut, I find your response very interesting. I am always interested in your replies in threads. What you have done is very close to my goals with my band. To me, you really are a picture of health. I have recently begun to exercise seriously and routinely. Since my banding I have low carbed it on and off. Since beginning to exercise I find that I am starving, so like you mentioned I am hunting food, any food. What does your diet look like???? Do you count carbs????? What do you consider healthy carbs???? Do you eat differently on workout days????? I plan to train to run a 5k in September. What is carb loading??? Thanks, Amy
  4. I have read threads about the couch to 5K and thought it impossible for me to run again. Then it happened... I was at the gym last week and, like Forest Gump, I just started to run!!! I ran for 7 minutes. I wanted to cry. I used to be a distance track runner in school and honestly thought that was just a piece of my past. Well, I now plan to make it a part of my future as well. I am going to train to run a 5k. I haven't found one close to me, but I will start looking. So........Who wants to join me in doing the couch to 5K!!!!!! I am going to start tommorow, March 30. Let's get moving!! Here's the link for instructions. Cool Running :: The Couch-to-5K Running Plan Amy
  5. Ok, time for me to get serious with this low carb thing again. I am soooooo ready to be in onederland, but I am not going to get there on Starbucks and Sonic slushes. So, here I go. So far today B - Atkins Caramel Latte Shake That's it so far, but I wanted to post to hold myself accountable. Amy
  6. I get frozen endamame from sam's. It comes in individual containers. YOu cook it in the microwave for 3 minutes and then eat the peas out of the pod. It is one of my favorites, and I think it is better for you because it is steamed, not dried. I could be wrong, but less sodium I think???????? I actually bought some more today.
  7. Delo, they are Atkins Caramel Latte shakes. I ordered them on Amazon as well.
  8. Wanna, Ok I feel so bad. I don't deserve your comments.. I decided to have a night off and watch cartoons and eat junk with my oldest son. We are eating a pint of Ben and Jerry's Ice cream as I type this. I only bought a pint, because this is a planned splurge, but if I bought a half gallon then I would eat at it all week. So, I am back on plan tommorow as well. I didn't get to go to the gym today. 2 of my kids have the flu. Amy
  9. My caramel latte shakes came in today!!!!!! YUMMY!!! I plan on them replacing my Starbucks trips. Thanks for the suggestion Losing.
  10. I am staying on plan today because i soooo want to be in wonderland, and my scales haven't moved in 3 days arghh.
  11. birdee, and starbucks has SOOOOOO many carbs. Even with my starbucks I stay under on calories, but those carbs kill me. They don't help my sugar cravings a bit either.
  12. My scales are moving down as well. I started exercising this week. I am staying on plan because I want it all to be worth it!!
  13. Today..... edamame, chicken soup, peppermint white mocha from Starbucks, water, water, water Pretty darn good, except that starbucks bit. OOPS
  14. OMG!!! I went to a kickboxing class at the gym today and it KICKED MY BUTT!!! I don't think I will be able to walk in the morning.
  15. I did good at dinner, but those 3 beef nanchos were probably not great at lunch. I made Asian noodle soup for supper. It was really yummy, but cost me 9 carbs. Amy
  16. I am about an hour south of Tyler. Dr Querry here in Pittsburg did my surgery. I wish you the best. Amy
  17. It is a steal, but you are right, it is worth whatever the cost.
  18. Eventually I plan to only see him every week or every other week just to keep me on track.
  19. I see my trainer 3 times a week. I pay $100 a month. He is family so I get a REALLY good deal.
  20. Welcome! I am also from East Texas. I live in Pittsburg. Who is your surgeon?? Where do you live?? I can definately say this is the best decision that I have made in a VERY long time.
  21. Just hired a trainer yesterday. I have used him in the past. I am going to go 3 times a week for 2 months, and during that time he is going to help me establish an exercise regimen for me. I may see him every other week after that just to shake things up. I would definately go witht the trainer.
  22. I pb'd 2 baby back ribs last night!! Doesn't sound appetizing to me at all.. LOL
  23. I just love this thread!! I had to revive it. Updates anyone?? I have now lost a small bale of hay and a guinea pig!!
  24. Congrats Shalee!!! This mornng I was 204!!! I am so close I can taste it. I started an exercise regimen this week and for the first time since banding I started making sure that I get all of my water in, so I expect these 4 pounds to come off pretty soon. When I am under 200 my dh is going to take me out to supper and take me to buy a new outfit (head to toe) to celebrate. I have not been under 200 in over 5 years!!! Congrats to all of you who have made it!! What an inspiration!!
