  1. 184.8 While it looks like a 0.6 lb loss, it was far more. For some reason after last weigh in on Sunday, the scale showed 2.6 lb gain by Monday (my official weigh-in day) and it is finally coming off. Weird! 185.4/184.8/177.4
  2. Starting wt: 185.4 Goal wt: 170 This is definitely a stretch goal, but hey, why not?!
  3. Name (real or screen) - ElectricBoogaloo Age - 40 Location - MN Date of surgery - 7/14/14 Current weight - 185.4 Weight lost since surgery - 29.6 lbs Goal for November - workout 5 days/week Favorite thing about Thanksgiving - family and friends Weight loss goal for November - 177.4 (8 lbs) ETA: 5 days/week is better than 4!
  4. 185.4. I didn't make my goal, but am even closer to my ultimate goal. I am looking forward to the next challenge!
  5. Count me in! Thanks, Susan.
  6. 7/15 here! I have lost 33 pounds, including pre-surgery loss, 18 pounds since surgery. I have had about two weeks without any loss during that time, and up 1 pound since last week. I haven't gotten filled yet, as I felt pretty restricted. That all changed this past week; little restriction, increased appetite, ability to eat anything, anytime, but refraining from indulging and trying to eat my 1/2 cup three times a day. Two Protein shakes a day. My original plan was to not fill, but I may have them fill at my next appointment in a couple of weeks. Other than the elusive Quest for the green zone, all is going well. Need to increase Water intake. Incisions are healing well. I apply Kelo-cote religiously twice a day. No complications, no complaints. So happy...Best decision I could have made!
  7. Ugh! Up 1, CW - 197 Onward and downward...
  8. To answer your question, the size of the bread is about 3 croutons. They have big pieces. What can I say? Because most posts on here talk about lapbanders foaming at the mouth and have serious effects when they eat bread (you included), any amount of bread, I asked this legitimate question. As stated, I don't know if I will have an issue because I am not far along enough to be able to "test" bread. I have only been part of this community for a couple of weeks and it has been extremely helpful to me and seemingly a very supportive environment. When there were few responses, I assumed that maybe there weren't many people on this site who take communion or that, in fact, communion bread wasn't much of a problem. However, I find your response to be very discounting and almost shaming me that I would be concerned about communion and dare ask the community this question (my very first question, by the way) because I should lighten up. I was surprised, quite frankly, because you seem so helpful to others. I was actually going to ignore it until you arrogantly told ME that [something, not sure what] should be more important than my faith...neither your place nor an opinion asked for. This topic was dormant for a couple of days and I was okay with not having responses from people who take communion (altered or not), but from those above who were trying to help problem-solve in the event I have an issue (thanks again). Since you were not trying to be helpful, I wish you would not have even responded.
  9. Thanks, Icy. I am not even sure if I will have an issue, but just in case, the melba toast is a great idea.
  10. Thanks for you responses, red and Hot. Our church doesn't use wafers, but good ol' fashioned bread (King Hawaiian, to be exact!), but we do have gluten free bread that looks like it may be more cracker material than bread.
  11. It is very emotional. It will all be fine. Good luck tomorrow, SD! Let us know how you are doing once you get a chance.
  12. Yes, pretty much. Only my husband, adolescent daughter (sworn to secrecy), and fairly new friends (married, 1 had rny years ago, the other in 2 weeks, very supportive). No other family or even my best friend (this one feels weird, though). I contemplated not telling my daughter, then I found out I had a hospital stay and realized the change in my eating habits pre and post would be too drastic to explain away. Maybe I will feel different later, but I didn't want to hear anyone's opinion or any of the other inappropriate crap offered, when it is no one else's business.
  13. For those lapbanders who can't tolerate bread and participated in communion pre-op, do you take communion anyway, post-op? Gluten-free option? Wine/juice only? If so, do you have issues with such a small amount of bread? I am not at the stage in which I can test my bread tolerance, but wondered what people are doing. Today, I just had wine.
  14. I think I posted this in the wrong section. Moving to LB post-op...

  16. Are we getting together in August?
