  1. My wife and I are both getting sleeves on December 3rd. My Dr sent me for weight management, due to type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea, bp, cholesterol, etc... my wife's came along to support me, and after discussing surgery, she decided to take the leep, too. We are so close now, she still needs to lose a few pounds this week, due to some bad advice from her nutritionist, but we are both working hard to hit her goal. Yesterday, I had an ultrasound, which revealed polyps in my gallbladder, so that will be removed, too. Hers was removed like 15 years ago, so not worried about that, either, been there, done that, and have her support, so I'm good with that. (Mostly, lol) We won't be in the same room after surgery, apparantly recovery rooms are gender specific, but hopefully I can hang out in her room during rounds in the morning, so we can get discharged together. Then home, to support each other with various stages of recovery, diey, exercise, etc... Anyone else get surgery on the same day as their significant other? How did it work out? Thanks
  2. My surgery is considered 'out patient', but will require an overnight stay in the hospital. my surgeon will check up on me during rounds, and give discharge orders then.
  3. No pain yet, I guess the polyps ate just a sign that stones could be in my future, so beter to get it out while they are in there already, instead of an additional surgery in the future.
  4. Had an ultrasound of my gallbladder this morning. Just got a call from my surgeon, and they found polyps in my gallbladder. Said they could take it out with my surgery, or leave it in, but would need yearly ultrasounds until the polyp gets bigger, and then a new surgery to take it out...
  5. Can't believe I just wasted a perfectly good Food Funeral on Burger King... omg, I feel sick... lol. One more week before pre-op diet...
  6. I don't know about anyone else here, but I think that is overly optimistic. my surgury was scheduled almost 2 months out after I finished my program. Filled with ultrasound, edg, presurgical trsying, etc... hope it works out!!!
  7. Heard from the hospital today. Passed review board and insurance approval. Dec 3rd here I come.
  8. So, I feel better after reading this. My wife and I are getting sleeves done in December. And for about a month now, we have been eating things that we haven't had in ages, even went to Cracker Barrel the other morning after our last medical visit for country fried steak and eggs for a late breakfast, with biscuits, gravy, butter...OMG. so, b this is a normal phase? Trying to control it now but planning a big bloe out for the night before pre surgery liquid diet stsrts
  9. I have Aetna, too. Should have been submitted last friday. How long should I wait to hear about approval? Should i call the hospital, or wait?
  10. December 3rd, pre-op liquid diet starts Nov 19th, so no Thanksgiving for me...
  11. Went to the hospital the other day, to start non-surgical medically assisted weight loss, but now it looks like I'm going the surgical route. I think the sleeve sounds less scary than the bypass, what does everyone think. 46 years old, bmi 47.7, type 2 diabetes for 9 years, cpap for 15 years. Dave
