  1. I had a band in 2004, I didn't keep it secret and I soon got totally over everybody have an opinion on what I should or shouldn't eat. I'd have a cup of tea at work and hear 'I hope you haven't put sugar in that' I'd be out for dinner and friends would be horrified if I'd order anything that wasn't fat free after 'what I'd put my body through!!' Rack off and mind your own business was my reply ! Anyway since the band I left the UK and moved overseas, my new friends know nothing about it and they don't know about my band to sleeve revision in 9 days and I ain't ever going to tell them either !!!
  2. My BMI is 31, going band to sleeve in 12 days !!!
  3. My doc said that the reason the feeling of being in the green zone dissipates is because as you lose wight after a fill you lose fat around your stomach which in turn loosens the band meaning you need a tiny top up.
  4. I've had the band for 10 years, my best weight loss was 46kg which was pretty close to my goal, I had to travel a long way for my fills and unfills and got quite frustrated with the whole thing. I'm not sure how you guys have your fills, but I told my fill provider that I wanted her do access my port whilst I was stood up. Once she was in I glugged a bottle of water whilst she filled. Once I felt the water stop and start to back up I told her to stop and withdraw the fluid bit by bit, once I felt the water trickle through I told her to stop. That's how I found my sweet spot :-)
  5. Hey Keish_lorraine ! I'm now the 12th of August, just one day after you ! Where about are you from ? Are you band to sleeve or straight sleeve ? I've been doing really well on my pre-op diet, but had a lapse today,I had 2 vodka and oranges and a BBQ pork bun, Back on the wagon today ! My official 2 week pre-op diet starts on Tuesday next week. My dr says I can have 2 optifast a day and a high protein, no carb / fat dinner per day, like steamed fish and veggies. One minute I can't wait for the op, next thing I am dreading it and want to call it off ! How about you ?
  6. Hi all, just wondering if anyone is getting sleeved on August 12th I'm in Australia and am hopefully going band to sleeve in the same op. My doc ordered 2 week liquid optifast diet, I started a week early ! Lost 4 kg already. Want to be in the best possible shape with the smallest liver possible for my op ! Anyway if your getting sleeved on August 14th let me know and we can keep a track of each other and see how we go !?
  7. I really want to pull out and cancel the op, it's just pre-op nerves, I cancelled my band op twice as well ! Damn nerves !!! I'm just worried about a leak and bad reflux. That is all :-)
  8. Wow, just goes to show we're all different, I travel on around 20 long distance flights each year and have never noticed a thing. Anyway, my band is coming out in 3 weeks and I'm getting sleeved, so I won't have to worry about that in the future :-)
  9. I was banded in 2004 at 136kg, got down to 90kg over about 4 years, now back up to 110kg. The only was I lose weight is with super tight restriction then I get the reflux and get miserable. I've decided to have it out and have a sleeve on the 12th of August. Can't wait to have the band removed and am looking forward to getting back on the losing side. I've also been doing my own fills / unfills for the last couple of years too. Over it now.
  10. I have heard people say that flying can temporarily tighten the band, however, I fly all the time due to my job and I've never noticed any difference.
  11. I hope all goes well for us all ! I had a dream that I had the sleeve and the next week they found a miraculous cure for obesity ! One injection of the skinny gene haha would be just my luck !
  12. Hi all, this is my first post on here. I'm having the sleeve on the 12th of August. I'm (hopefully) going from band to sleeve (same op) had the band 10 years ago was 136kg, got down to 90kg, now back up to 110kg. Bands not working for me anymore. I'm 37 and 182cm. Anybody else gone band to sleeve in the same op ?
