  1. I just got back from the surgeon's office and, finally ,after nine months of appointments I have all of my clearances, and today I got my surgery scheduled. I am getting my band on May 24th. I am starting to get nervous, but I am really excited and know that I am ready. Any bits of advice from anyone out there for me? I'd love to hear from you. :biggrin1:
  2. I have been getting very frustrated lately. I have been working on all of my clearances now for several months. I am soooo ready to move forward and it just seems there is always some stumbling block. I try to be patient, but it has been a long road to get to where I am now. It is looking like I will have to wait now until April for my surgery. Any pre-lap memories out there to help me feel a bit better?:omg:
  3. I have an appointment to see the surgeon on 9/7-next week. I am feeling like this is going to happen now. I see the clinical nutritionist shortly afterward. It is great to see this all begin to take place. I started going to a new support group for bandsters at the hospital where I am to have the surgery. Hopefully I can have the surgery in the Fall. YEAH. Say a prayer for me, anyone who reads this, that my insurance covers this. They are usually very good about covering "medically necessary" things. Thanks everyone for all your good advice. :cheeky
  4. I went this week to my first meeting about the LapBand. I sent in the extensive history form and have read all the info. I am ready to get this underway. I see my primary physician this week, and hope to set up an appointment with the surgeons Clinical Nutritionist. I am really going to do this. Any words of support or encouragement? Any advice you all wish you had known when you started? Let me in on your experiences. Thanks. :nervous
  5. I will be having my surgery in Albany. Hey, what a great story your's is. Congratulations to you. I just can't wait to get this process started.
  6. I am new to this chat. I am going to my first informational meeting on 7/26. How long did the whole process take you from first meeting, tests, surgeon meeting, to actual surgery? Congrats, I bet you are excited and hopeful.
  7. Can anyone tell me about their own experience with the amount of time between the first informational meeting and your actual surgery (barring any unforseen holdups). How long did it take for all of you?
  8. I am attending a general info meeting and want very much to get the Lap Band. My BMI is under 40. Is there anyone who was able to get the LapBand with a BMI under 40? Please reply.:ermm
