  1. it's the Red Robin at I-25 and Arapahoe. Which way will you be driving? If you're coming down Arapahoe, it's on the left had side, just before the entrance to the freeway.
  2. I'll keep your friend Sammy in my thoughts and prayers. We are so fortunate to have had Dr. K. He is so skilled and he is so logical when it comes to things like fills and pre-op/post-op diets. I just feel we were so blessed! Keep us posted as to how Sammy is doing! Hey Patty, we both have 143 lbs to lose to goal!
  3. The Holiday Inn Select in Parker is the one many stay in and it's very reasonable. I work at the hospital that is connected to the surgicenter and I have stayed there several times during snow storms. The beds are very comfy!
  4. Hey! I would love the 18-20's! I"m on the taller side of life! I tried Bio-oil and it didn't work. I was diligent with applying it twice a day for 45 days. Not one bit of change in my scars. I'm going to check out the tinier silverware. That's so cute!
  5. I'm sorry to hear you're having more pain due to the weather. It's been bizarre here! One day we are in the 70's the next day we are in a full on blizzard! Thankfully it was that heavy wet spring snow, so it's melting pretty quickly. I love the freebies at Estee Lauder and Ralph Lauren! Sometimes you can get some great things! I also cannot believe some of the deals in the store. We were at Walmart the other day and I got a pair of 1x jeans for $2.00! Two dollars!!! Amazing! See you at Red Robin on Wednesday!!!
  6. I am so happy to hear the news that your Dad's meds are helping him with his headaches. I pray everyday for your family and I hope he is able to make many more wonderful memories with his children and wife. I love your pictures! You are looking great Miss 250!
  7. the first time I went to meet everyone at Red Robin, I had no idea who to meet... so I stood at the door and luckily Marilyn saw a fat woman who looked lost - and she came and got me! Like Snowgator says, we sit on the bench at the door until about 10 after 7pm. Join us!!!
  8. Hey Julie.ann, I weighed this evening before coming to work. I lost 4lbs this week. My total weight loss since starting the challenge has been 11lbs. Thanks for keeping track of our weight losses!
  9. Same should apply for you My Dear! You and Mini have been through a lot lately. Your focus should be on taking care of self. If you need some comfort food, go for it. It's just a temporary situation.
  10. It's okay Mini! My Goodness you and Lotza have been through so much personal stress. Right now, it's important to take care of yourself and your loved ones. You'll be getting a fill on the 2nd, so you can start fresh that day! I'm so excited to see you! I hope others in the area can join us!
  11. Just go to "Post Reply" and hit the "paperclip icon" and then upload your picture. It will appear in your post. Try it! If I'm still in town on the 7th, I'd love to organize a gathering for you to meet some of the Denver Banditos. I was supposed to get a fill today, but I changed my mind, seems I still have great restriction!
  12. I'd love to add you on Facebook. Sorry about being the "grapevine" for MsCheryl! Congrats on the 2lbs! I lost 2lbs too! I'm hoping to lose another one lb by Saturday!
  13. Let's do Red Robin at I-25 and Arapahoe! April 1st @ 7pm!
  14. It's a good thing you didn't come out! We're in the middle of a spring bizzard. We're expecting 3 feet of snow! So it's a good thing you're home, warm and dry!
  15. Red Robin is easy because they have the Ensenda Chicken Platter. Two very thin chicken breasts that are extremely tender and a salad. Almost carb free. One breast is plenty with a couple of bites of salad and then you have leftovers for another meal or two. Also there are soups, veggie burgers (garden or boca) large cobb salads and other things that are band friendly. Panera doesn't work well for me anymore. The soups are very high calorie and everything else has bread. Their salads are also high calorie. I used to love Panera.
  16. A Lap Band Group Meeting is planned for April 1st at 7pm. Location to be decided. Save the date and Mark your calendars if you want to join us. Mini will be here from out of state!
  17. I think that's wonderful! You all went to Disneyland together! You're making more sweet memories. Your Father sounds like such a sweet man. We're going to fly. We were going to drive, but rental cars cost almost a thousand dollars! I hate flying! This is my first time flying since I lost all of the weight! I hope I don't need a seat belt extender! We have to plan a get together on the 1st of April. Mini will be here for that night. We can do Red Robin. It seems there are more things we can eat there. Salads, soup, chicken breasts etc etc. Thanks for the encouragement. My poor daughter had a kidney stone the other day. We got to the ER for pain control around 230pm and it was packed. I have never seen so many elderly people in my life. Every bed was full. They noticed she was in such agony, so they put her in the hall with an IV and some pain meds. I actually think it helped to be in the hall, we weren't hidden away some place ignored. Congrats!!! I think that is wonderful! I think that would be great! We could become very close friends and support one another with our Bands and our family issues!
  18. Wow Julie Ann, you're almost to Onederland!!!
  19. hey julie ann, i'll have to defer my weigh in til Wed. Sorry, I am working nights and my schedule is all screwy! thanks for keeping track for us! last week, I lost 1.8lbs.
  20. Actually Patty isn't going to make it on the 7th, as far as I know. I am not sure I'm going to be in town, either, but if I am I'd love to meet with you and anyone else. We're going to meet on the 1st when Mini gets here. We usually meet monthly at the Red Robin at Arapahoe and I-25. We've been doing that for over 2 years. We meet and take a picture to post here online. We missed the month of March.
  21. I'm here Sweetie! thanks for asking. I've been dealing with a lot of depression lately. Night shift is kicking my butt and I'm getting ready to take my daughter to college. I'll have an empty nest and it's something I am so sad about. I'm so happy for her! But after being married for 22 years, I never imagined I'd be alone when our daughter left for school.
  22. We usually meet at Red Robin once a month. We'd love to have you with us. I understand that we won't be meeting at Rockbottom Brewery since Patty won't be here. April 1st, Mini will be here. We need to figure out a place to meet and we can all get together.
  23. If you have insurance, you pretty much have to go with whomever they will pay for, however, if you are self-pay, you can't beat Dr. Kirshenbaum. He doesn't take insurances. He is self-pay only. AND he's the best surgeon in the state! I have lost over 140lbs since my surgery almost 14 months ago. His charge is very reasonable and he's very experienced. I highly recommend him and his staff!
  24. Since you only have 60lbs to lose, you most likely didn't have to do the pre-op very long. There isn't a lot of room in the abdominal cavity if you're morbidly obese and having to manipulate the liver is pretty serious. If you're not that overweight, as in your case, doing the procedure probably wasn't going to be that difficult. I'm sure things went fine.
  25. A fatty liver or a fat liver is a medical condition, not all obese people have this condition. The pre-op diet doesn't have to limit calories or fat. Carbs are really the only thing that needs to be limited in order to shrink your liver. IF you have a "Fatty Liver" it won't be fixed with a pre-op diet. I just thought, I'd say that. I had Dr. Kirshenbaum also. His pre-op makes the most sense if you know how the liver works. I cut my carbs down to 20grams a day at the most, I only ate meat and veggies and that's it. I lost 17lbs with my pre-op diet. It was very easy and gave my weight loss a boost!
