How much food could you consume 6 months post op?
For me it depends. Sometimes I can only eat a few bites of food and other times I'm surprised at how much I can eat. In general, I'm around the 1/2 cup mark.

Hi everyone!
Being nervous is normal. It's true that it's permanent and it's a big decision. I've had so many times where I've wished I could go back because I miss eating big meals. That's when I realize that I'm thankful for my surgery because I know I would have never gotten this far without it. Change is scary but it's worth it.

Almost there!

Beware emotional and binge eaters.
I've been going to post op classes at my surgeon's office and right now I'm reading a book for that class that's really helpful with emotional eating. It's called Eat Q, check it out on Amazon. It's very practical and though I'm not "cured", it's definitely helping me.

So disappointed
I remember feeling exactly the same. I've been a slow loser and it took me a while to come to peace with that. I lost 14lbs my first month and never lost more than that in a month. But I'm at 6 months and over halfway to my goal now. My loss is slow but steady and I'm seeing results. You will too.

Wondered when it would come "ONEDERLAND"
Congrats on hitting onerland! I'm in a class with the psychiatrist at my surgeon's office that helps build good skills post op and we're reading a book that provides all sorts of tools to deal with emotional eating. The book is called Eat Q and I don't normally like self help type of books but this one is really good and I'm seeing positive changes in my ability to control snacking.

I just realized that Weight Loss Surgery has ruined my life.
On the bright side, we could handle the food deprivation on Survivor a lot better than the people that haven't had WLS. Seriously, who's watched Survivor and secretly thought it would be a great diet plan??? @RJ'S/beginning I have swam with dolphins and it was one of the most memorable experiences I have ever had. I plan to ride a horse on the beach this December in Hawaii but probably more like a gelding vs a stallion. LOL Stallion does sound cooler.

Breakfast question
I don't but that's because those type of foods are all carbs and I'll be starving in an hour after eating them. I stick to an egg or Protein shake.

Anyone used/using BannerGateway-Gilbert, AZ?
No but I used to live in Gilbert, near the mall. I don't think that hospital was there when I lived there. My son was born at Banner Mesa. Loved that place. I know this sure didn't answer your question but I couldn't help myself. Best of luck.

I think I finally found my push to a better diet
Here's a book I read about the same topic. It was so difficult to read that I had to put it down a few times. I switched to local organic meat where I could actually visit the farm to see the conditions. It's more expensive but worth it. http://www.amazon.com/Slaughterhouse-Shocking-Inhumane-Treatment-Industry/dp/1591024501

Re Sleeve after weight gain?
Do you mind me asking, how much can you eat in one sitting?

Things I never thought would be said to me......
I've needed to back off from a pizza or ice cream before, but never heard that about exercise. Strange concept. :-)

Convenience foods
I keep beef Jerky on hand. High in Protein and lean. Little high on sodium but overall it's a good choice. You could alway look for high Protein Bars too. I don't like the Premier Protein Bars but I do like South Beach. Has around 12 g of protein and lower in sugar than most.

Popcorn?
I've had popcorn and I'm 6 months out. As long as your sleeve doesn't get angry, you should be fine. I can't tolerate anything fried, rich, spicy or seafood, but by golly, I can eat popcorn without any issues.
