Whee!
I started off needing to lose 86 lbs and have lost 29 lbs so only have 57 lbs to go. Sounds easy doesn't it... NOT! First loss was easy, now the hard part has kicked in. Still walking every day and thinking about what I'm eating... way too much for sure. My 2nd fill is next Wednesday and I'm hoping that will help.

How do you determine goal weight?
My doctor said he wants me to get down to 70 kgs (154 lbs) but I opted for 65 kgs (143 lbs). I'm also 5' 2". I'm happy to lose enough to get my health back on track, eg, BP, diabetes and anything after that is a bonus.

How many calories?
When I was restricted I was on 800 - 900 calories but haven't been doing too well in the last 3 weeks. I want to get back to that and hopefully will after my 2nd fill next week. My doctor said he wants me to be on 1000 cals a day.

I'm home and banded!
Glad you got through it fine Jen. I was lucky to have my sister around me while going through that first week. Good luck with your journey.

i even failed at this....
Good on you Tracey for working up the courage to do this. You've already done the hard part... having the op, so you don't need to do that again, you just need to get back on track and this is the first step. Same to you Lala.

I am banded!
Good on you guys, welcome to the banded world! FYI, it's not unusual that you have gained weight, most people do. Something to do with being blown up for the op I think. Someone please clarify this.

I am banded!
Glad to hear you came through without too many problems. I was lucky, didn't experience much gas pain. Congrats on the weight loss. I'm at a standstil at the moment, able to eat too much but have my 2nd fill next week. Enjoy the journey and I hope you lose heaps!

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
These last 3 weeks have been the worst. I guess we were warned by the older bandsters but you really don't know until it happens to you. I must say I watched what I was doing today and actually stopped eating when I was full rather than finish what was on my plate... there is a little restriction but I have been overriding that because I can. Penny I know how you feel and once you allow yourself to start eating you just keep going and going, especially if you eat the bad carbs. I am being semi good, starting the day with a Protein shake and eating food for my other meals. The killer for me is the evening. Oh and of course, I make sure I exercise every day.

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
4 pieces of pizza sounds familiar... counting the days down Steph.

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
That sounds exactly what I'm hoping for teresajo. I'm finding it so hard to stick with small portions right now... bandsters hell, never thought it would happen to me.

can't throw up
If food is stuck and it won't go down any other way, then the juice helps. I guess it's because the texture of the juice let's it slide down. I'm not sure if that is the reason I just know it works.

Any Nymphs Feeling Restriction!
I have a 10 ml (cc) band and have 2 mls (cc) in it. I can eat a lot more than I should be but I notice there are some things which do make me feel restricted. I have my 2nd fill next week and I'm a bit worried that I might have done some damage to myself during the last 3 weeks of eating pretty much what I want. Then again it could just be my fat belly !! :welldoneclap: You sound like you have good restriction Cindy. I want to have at least 4-5 mls (cc) in my band after that fill. I don't want to be sick or PBing but I certainly don't want to be able to fit in that extra mouthful. One other problem I have is I find it hard to throw something out when I'm full. For example, today I had a big toasted sandwich and was full after 1/2 - 2/3 but waited a few minutes and finished it. Silly me for sure.

Ladies and Guys I NEED some advice!
My man used to drive a long distance to be with me. He would take me to dinner and spend time with me, my family and me with his but he was never going to make a commitment to me. He loved me in his own way but the bottom line was he didn't love me enough. Nor I him, I guess but I didn't look at that at the time. Do what works for you... no comment on here is going to help you decide because you will only decide when you are ready to. You can tell yourself all sorts of stories about he does this, so it means this but it won't change anything. If he's not there committed to you and you alone, then nothing else he does matters. Good luck with finding your answer.

Ladies and Guys I NEED some advice!
The text message is just to make sure you are still waiting for him... dangling the carrot. Get rid of him now because he will continue to do this to you. I know because I had someone like that in my life for many years. The bottom line is they won't make a commitment to you but they don't want to be without you. Not worth the heartache. For the record, I also had commitment & self esteem issues which is why I kept someone like that in my life.

slowing down - working harder
Donna you're doing so well... an inspiration to all. Same to the rest of you. I can't wait to lose my next 20 lbs (29 off so far). Weight loss has always been that way for me... heaps at the beginning then slows down to almost nothing. Of course it doesn't help that the motivation slows down as well. I'm determined not to let that happen this time.

Patience is KEY!!!!
I haven't lost anything since just before the NY but I know why that is. Too much food. I am walking pretty much every day but my intake hasn't been the greatest. I start off okay but by the end of the day you'd think I was a garbage disposal... I am determined to keep my intake under 1000 calories this week. I am eating more because I can but in reality if I stop to think about it, I'm not actually hungry. I hadn't eaten anything for a couple of hours yesterday and started to feel a little hungry but it didn't take much to appease that. It's definitely a head thing. More restriction will help stop the amount of food I can take in though, so I am looking forward to my 2nd fill on 23rd.
