I have searched bariatric pal and have found no main forum for those of us considering bariatric procedures that are endolumenal. I am researching things like Endobarrier, Obalon, and ways of changing gut flora as means of weight loss. I would be sooooo excited to hear from the australians, europeans that are now doing these things and also hear from the folks on the endobarrier trials to see how they are doing. What say? I sure appreciate the new medications forum. I have been reading trial studies and doctors' clinical reports and really want to try to lose weight with some of these less err, "cutting" methods, before going to have a sleeve done. I guess the only sad thing I have noticed, is where these new methods are written of here in the forums, I find those that have had more complex surgery are kind of "downers" on these ideas. I understand, but I have an open mind and want to really explore these options now. A forum for these would be so helpful. After church i will post some links. but Alan I think you have seen them, you seem to be really well educated on different forms of WL. Thanks in advance. Tristan

thx for you response, dee, i will go try to find your pix. after reading your comments i went and looked at your doctor's work on his website and saved it to my pinterest board for mexican doctors/surgery. i do like his work. if you don't mind me asking, or you don't think its rude, may i ask what a good price is for a body lift? at this point in time i am looking seriously at trying one LAST time to lose weight without really changing the shape of my stomach... things like endobarrier and the obalon endolumenal baloon. also there are some new meds coming down the line. I finally came to decide on a sleeve and then started reading doctors reports about it, you know the clinical studies. i reallly want to try b4 i go there. its hard... really. to come to the decision, search for a mexican doctor, and then read the studies. there are very high rates of suicide for wls folks after they start to put the weight back on.. and i tend to float close to the depression line in daily life. so its going to be a first try with the milder forms of wl, like meds, and actually i think the endobarrier looks very promising. i may get that in Mexico or europe since they are doing that there now. and may try that for a while, then try a balloon for a while.. and see where that gets me. I also thought about some plastics, like these body sculpting and cold laser reshaping, so hopefully your doc does that too. i appreciate your suggestions and i am sorry your journey took a tough step with the first wrong doctor. my problem is that i errr, research TOOOO much. i've been looking at wls for like 8 years now. i am glad i waited, as there are more things out there now. i was going to get a band, glad i did not. anyhoo, thanks again.

I would sure like to talk to someone who has had this. I am exploring non surgical, or less invasive type procedures and am very interested in Endobarrier. It is being used in Australia and Europe now, and is being tested here in the USA. if any of you are interested, and have not taken the surgery step yet, you can sign up for the trials now. This looks to be quite a safe procedure, and also is being used to stave off Type 2 Diabetes. Unfortunately, there are no trials near me, and I even investigated costs of flying to LA to the nearest hospital for me, but it wasn't financially feasible. If you have had this, please reply to how it worked out for you? best, triss in utah

I know it will be in Mexico, so again, thank you for sharing. It is much appreciated. I actually started looking at PSs in South Korea, after seeing a thing on tv a short while ago, and looking at some pretty AMAZING before and afters online (like, hundreds of them). hi, i am researching funding and from what i have read with googling, medicare pays for weight loss surgery. check it out and tell me what you find out. I just wish I had medicare. Utah didn't extend it, of course.

I am 61 and have been researching wls for over 8 years, at least. i am so glad i waited,as now there are more options than before, that seem possible and more what i am interested in. i am very interested in vsg and would love to be in touch with you, nina51, in order to keep posted on your journey. I have decided to go to Mexico, but my main issue will be coverage after care, as at this moment i am uninsured and i think this would be very important before i go. i wish you all the best with your surgery... where will you go for your surgery and is it covered by your insurance? please keep posting here, as I really want to hear your story. triss in utah
