  1. Thank you for answering. It seems to be a common thing, to put on weight but I didn't have a frame of reference on this subject.
  2. Thank you for your reply. I'm going to call her soon and tell her to come here and join up so she can talk to you all. The fluids thing makes sense to me, having just had a huge series of cosmetic procedures post weight loss myself. I put on weight after every surgery, until I could start exercising again.
  3. Hi everyone My big sister had lapband surgery about five days ago. I'm doing my best to support her in this as I think I was a major instigator of her having the procedure in the first place, so I particularly want her to be successful. I'm at a loss to understand why she has put on weight.... I just didn't know what to say when she told me. She is 2kgs heavier than her pre-op weight. She has only been drinking fluids, ie water, skim milk, Sustagen, tomato soup in 50 ml quantities so it defies all the logic that has been shoved down our neck about what makes us fat! She's very despondant, and I want to offer her encouragement but I don't want to be telling her something that isn't correct. I hope someone here can offer me some insight. Thanks Mary-Jane
