  1. I just got my new vivofit and I LOVE It...anyone else using a vivofit??? There is a challenge you can join up with friends and others and I would love to hook up with some new beginners?????
  2. So, I have lost a few lbs, and I am 5 weeks out of surgery. I am experiencing a slow heart rate of about 42 while lying flat and 51 while sitting up. anyone else having this issue??
  3. I was sleeved on 9/17 and I am VERY interested in a physical meeting for vsg...I have so many questions and being around some people who many have shared the same experiences would be just great! My Name is Rachael and I live in Lake Oswego.
  4. So, I was 423 at my HW in June of this year...I started the modified liquid diet to lose a few lbs prior to surgery and my SW was 383!! Now I am 5 weeks out and I am 363 but I have not lost a single lb in three weeks.... I know after years of yo yo dieting with weight watchers that I would gain and lose the same 10 lbs over and over and I always knew why I didn't show any loss in the weekly weigh in, it was always because I would over eat or binge out and I knew it then I would struggle for a couple days to lose what I ate. With this I am NOT eating anything or binge eating or anything and I am just at a loss for words!!! I have about 150 lbs to lose still and I cant imagine this being all I am going to lose! I have heard everyone say that stalls are going to happen and I just never expected it so soon!! How long do they last? is there anything you can do to kick your body back into gear???
  5. WOW! I am having the same exact issue!!! I was sleeved on 9/17 my HW is 423 in June, then surgery was 9/17 sw was 383 and the first week I was down to 372 and then for three weeks NOTHING I have been at 365 for the past three weeks just not moving at all....I called my NUT and she said she is very impressed with my food choices and asked me to just keep doing what I am doing. I have one shake a day in the am and I blend a banana and some spinach with a premier vanilla shake and add two tbls of ground flax seed and that is around like 340 calories and it takes me a good hour to drink it all then so she said to try to eat every couple of hours and hit around 1000 calories with my 112 grams of Protein...but since I am not hungry and I just forget to eat.. so she said I needed to get my calories up there and then I will see some loss. she explained that I was just too low on calories for so long that my body went into a starvation mode and is just holding all it can. they say we will break out of this but WHEN??? lol its kinda scary going through all this and NOT losing.
  6. what I have been told, is to not not worry to much about hitting Protein goals in the first 4 weeks but rather work on getting comfortable with the portion sizes and drinking your fluids then when you are in the eating stages, things will progress and you will wean off the shakes and start getting your protein from food sources. it does suck to feel super tired and weak, but that is to be expected...I am ending week 3 and starting week four tomorrow and I will now be eating soft foods, and I can tell you I am feeling VERY happy about investing in my Ninja blender and I have been drinking my veggies all week and I feel great! drinking the veggies gives me a chance to work on eating my protein and not being concerned that I am not getting proper nutrition!
  7. hey all....I am fairly new here and I have not figured out how to add more pics....and another thing, how do you update your weight to reflect on your ticker???
  8. I have been over 400 lbs for two years, I was over 300 lbs for 20+ years and there are things that I remember doing that I took for grated that I just cant do anymore. Fitting into a booth without having to push the table back. Sitting in a chair with arms and not worry about breaking it or getting stuck getting into a car without having my gut rest on the steering wheel fitting into clothes that are not specially made being able to put my shoes on without sitting down and or needing assistance riding a bike roller skating sitting cross legged on the grass in a park, and being able to get up! fitting in a bathroom stall without going to the handicapped stall fitting comfortably into a set at movie theater fitting into a ride at the fair having energy eating in a place without feeling like every one is watching every bite you take I know I can go on and on about it...but there are so many little things that I just wish I had not let go of, maybe I would have worked harder to keep the weight down and not just got bigger and bigger. but I started sitting out of events and not going places and wearing sweats and it just got easier and easier until I forgot the old me and became someone else. I cant wait to get me back.
  9. I started this journey in June weighing 423 lbs I was put on a modified liquid diet and asked to lose 20 lbs. In July I weighed in at 403...then in Aug 387 ...I had surgery on 9/17 and weighed in 383...Today I am 374....I have about 176 more lbs to lose and I have a feeling for the first time in my life, I can look forward to actually losing this weight. I dont know how close to goal I will get, but I like the fact that I know I have a fighting chance at getting there! I hope you keep in touch!! I would like to see how your doing!!!!
  10. You look fantastic!!! I was heavy all thorough my 20's and 30's and I really want to enjoy my 40's. I am 42 and I was sleeved on 9/17 and I am really hoping that I lose a bulk of this weight this year!

  12. Hello!!!! Today is my one week surgaversary!!!! I am feeling weak however today I am doing very well. I am drinking a lot of fluids and I am feeling much more hydrated today. My shakes are going down well and I am excited to have this be my last week of fluids. I am down 9 lbs for my first week, and that brings my total weight loss to 51 lbs! that is so exciting!!!!
  13. I am 5 days post op today. I had a bit of anxiety because I'm struggling to get my protein in and I'm feeling very weak. I'm going to try mixing my shakes with water and having a cup of tomato soup made with milk and some v8 juice to get some vitamins in. See if that makes me feel better. I know this is a normal reaction to this phase but it's not something I prepared for.
  14. Hi all!!! Had my surgery 9/17 and all has been well. Not much pain at all but today I'm finding a feeling of maybe fullness with my protein shake for breakfast? Maybe I drank too fast. I did has a day or so of nausea but the pills worked. I'm not able to tolerate water straight but I have it mixed with a bit of g2 and that works. I had my first bm yesterday and it was rock hard so I'm going to get some milk of mag today and see if that helps me. For the most part all is good.
  15. Blood clots are scary. Just do what they tell you and walk walk walk. Think of this, if you are prone to blood clots... The worst thing you can be is obese. It's a clot magnet!!!
  16. I hear you! My big day is tomorrow!!! Had all liquids today. Wasn't so bad since I had a nervous tummy anyway!! Good luck to you!!!
  17. Congrats!!! I'm going day after tomorrow!!!! I can't believe the time has come
  18. I started this process on June 5th weighing about 423. I will have sleeve surgery day after tomorrow and I am 386 now.
  19. My surgery is 9/17. Just a couple more days! Wow there are a lot of us in the next couple days!!! Prayers to all for tomorrow!!! I hope everyone checks back in and lets us all know how it went!???
  20. The only one I tried was the primer protein from Costco. I did not care for them at all. They were 30 grams of protein and only 160 calories but the after taste was nasty!
  21. Hi!!! My surgery is Wednesday the 17th!!! I'm terrified but so excited!!!! I've been doing a modified liquid diet since July to lose 20 lbs and I have to do a one day all liquid diet the day before surgery!!! I check in at 9:30 and surgery will be at 10:45 am!!!! Hope to talk to you soon and ask how your procedure went!!!!
  22. I am sorry but I HATE the new app!!! You can't chat, and there are horrible pop ups that repeat as soon as you close them. Bring the old one back!!!! It's a total bummer!!!
  23. Thank you! This is my first surgery so I'm a little nervous. But it will be good. Any step in the right direction is improvement.
  24. Wow you are so young!!! Very brave of you!!! You will not be sorry. I am scheduled for the 17th. I am nervous too but we will both laugh about this next year when we have lost half our weight!!!
  25. I called almost every day lol I found out about my approval before my dr lol. Took 9 days!!!
