Good point about insurance. If he billed your insurance for a fill that you didn't get, that is insurance fraud. Tell him you can report him to the insurance company.

I am glad you cancelled your surgery since you didn't feel comfortable, but I wanted to tell you that I have needed approximately $1800 worth of fills/unfills in the first year. So it is not unheard of. My fill doc initially charged $335 a fill when he was in another practice, so that added up pretty quickly.

Wow Colorado Crazy, for all that you ripped on Dr.K, your docs program sure sounds JUST like his!! And the day you can reach a surgeon ANYTIME will be the day pigs fly!! I am an ICU nurse so I am well aquainted with how well you can reach doctors... (For anyone wondering about the hostility of my post, it is because this one likes to visit the thread about my doc and openly bash him. We love our surgeon and don't really appreciate her opinion so much...)

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone out there has a Jennings scale? I have been looking for a new scale for awhile, and stainless steel is one of my requirements. I have heard Tanita scales are accurate, but I haven't been able to find a stainless one. I ran across one by Jennings that is stainless, has a large display, and it talks (nice for if I don't have my glasses on in the morning). But...I have never heard of Jennings. It does have a 20 year warranty though.

LOL! Great idea about the forum!! Might I just point out that I agree with what a previous poster said about OH...while I do go there and read posts, I feel it is much more negative than LBT. I also feel there is a lot of juvenile shit that goes on there and that I have stepped back in time to high school. Seriously, these people get all up in arms about each other on the rants and raves boards there. Come on people...this is the INTERNET for crying out loud. This is true about the masturbation thing...my first job was in a video store, and we had a guy that would always stand behind the big cardboard movie things and masturbate. YUCK!!!!

Dr.K did my surgery December 5th, 2007. I was worried about going there from Illinois all by myself, but it was fine. I am also a nurse and was worried about the facilities the surgery would be performed in, but no worries-the surgery center was nicer than the 2 year old hospital I work in! And I second what other people have said-Dr.K's staff is great, they are very responsive to any needs or concerns you may have. I have a local surgeon who does my fills, but I would not hesitate to fly back to see Dr.K if I needed to! (And as a side note, my surgeon here, who is a great surgeon in his own right, is very impressed with the job Dr.K did...)

I just wanted to chime in that I have crate trained all four of my labs, which range from 4-8 years old. Even in their adulthood they still love their crates. They will crawl in their "house" on their own when they want to sleep or have some alone time. They view it as a safe place to this day, even the 8 year old lab. Good luck!

Well, I am going to get the ultrasound treatments, so we will see how that goes. Jack, the orthopedic doctor wrote the prescription for "longitudal arch supports" so I am assuming it will be a hard, custom made orthotic? I went to the Good Feet store a few months ago, and they had one that felt really good-it had a really high arch and took the pressure off my heel. (I think my high arches are part of the problem.) But the Good Feet store wants you to buy a set of 3 different insoles- a firm, medium, and soft one so to speak. And they advise you switch them out throughout the day, going from the hard one progressively down to the softest one. Like I have time for that!! I thought about just buying the one I liked, but it was still over $200, so I figured I would get them professionally made so my insurance can pay for it!

Yep, that's the one. I didn't want to give away too many spoilers since I was watching it while I was posting. I couldn't believe her family's attitude about her being a lesbian!! They were just so horrendously judgemental and mean when they said things to her about it! I also found it ironic that her dad had an affair, but apparently that is not a sin like being a lesbian is. Like I said, with those family dynamics, no wonder the chick is an addict. As for the ending, she went to rehab, started working out in the gym again, and said she was thinking about a comeback in sports. It said she had been sober since October 2007.

Well, I went to the ortho doc again today. I am going to do PT three times a week and get professional orthotics made. I am still going to try chiro and acupuncture also. Jack, any good tips on the orthotics? Thank God my doc did not want to do surgery. He had mentioned that in the past and I am really not on board for that. Whew!!

Yes, Dee is right...Dr.K knew I was coming alone because I could not afford to fly my husband out with me. Dee, being the very sweet person she is, stepped up and gave me a ride back to the hotel. And she took very good care of me! :eek: They did make me sign a paper with who was picking me up, so I'm not sure what I would have done had Dee not come to get me. Speaking of.....Dee, your surgery is in TWO DAYS!!!!! How excited are you? I am very excited. I so hope everything goes as planned. It sounds like everything is going as planned so far...I am keeping my fingers and toes crossed! Expect a good luck phone call from Illinois! If you see a funny number on your caller ID, it's just me!
