I agree!! What better than to adopt a pooch in time for Christmas?

Lizzie, Too cute! My dogs would never let me put a sweater on them (nor would I probably find one big enough for the chubby behinds), but they have so many cute ones out there. We were at Petsmart the other night and they had a little leather jacket with a fur collar, and a little blue quilted parka with a hood. The stuff they come up with! I did buy a little dog sweatshirt for one of my cats once. He is always cold. He will sit up against heat vents in the winter, leaning into them. He let me put in on him but spent the rest of the day staring at me as if to say "Is this really necessary?" So....off it came.

Thanks for the tip, I'm glad I didn't waste my money ordering any. I am sensitive to food smells, I haven't been able to find any Protein that I can drink except for the Isopure Zero Carb drinks. I was going to order some Unjury in hopes that it wouldn't be stinky to me, so I'm glad you posted.

I love labs! Buddy is mostly lab and Chase is lab/shepherd. Paco probably has some lab in her, too. Funny thing is, only Sparky, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, will get in the swimming pool! How big are your dogs? I hope they don't all try to get in bed with you at the same time! It cracks me up that you said only your Rhodie (which I also love) will get in the pool, because all of my labs HATE Water. The first one, I thought it was a fluke, by the third one I was really starting to wonder. The fourth lab was a rescue lab and hunted with his previous owner, so I thought, "Finally, a lab that will act like a lab and like water!" Nope! He is the absolute worst one of all of them, if he goes outside and feels ONE raindrop on his back, he turns around and hightails it right back into the house without going potty like something it chasing him. Sigh...I think I have special needs labs.... My vet even calls my oldest lab Bailey "Jethro" with a redneck twang because he is so goofy... I have one lab that weighs about 75 pounds and the rest weigh between 90-95 pounds. I have three black males and a chocolate female. (We stick together because we are the only chicks in the house.) And yes, there are times, especially in the winter, when they all climb in bed with us. (And we can only fit a queen sized bed in our bedroom unless we don't want any other furniture!) More often than not, my husband and I wake up with about two feet of the bed to ourselves, all contorted, while the dogs are stretched out and sleeping like babies. They are only a little bit spoiled....but they deserve it because they bring so much joy to our lives. I love my dogs. (And this will sound horrible, but I have wanted another one, but we had a next door neighbor who was a cranky old man and hated our dogs even though we don't let them sit outside and bark, so we didn't get another one because there is a four dog limit in our city, and we knew he would complain. Well, he passed away last night, so technically....see, I told you it was going to sound terrible!)

This is an interesting thread. Although a purely fictional situation, my husband and I were talking about all the CIA special ops the other night when we were watching the Bourne Ultimatum. About whether it is really like it is in the movie. I tend to believe that this stuff occurs more than we would ever like to think about. I guess I am a bit of a consipiracy theorist, because I believe the US engages in many things that are against UN sanctions- for example, germ warfare. I'm sorry, but I don't believe we don't do it. This is a touchy subject in real life for me-I am torn. On one hand, I would like to think that morally, I would object to torture in any situation. On the other hand, I have a little sister who is a Marine and could be deployed to Iraq at any time, my brother in law has been to Iraq twice, and my stepson will be deployed to Iraq shortly, so there is another part of me that says do whatever it takes to protect these soldiers and our country. And I also agree with the previous posts about 9-11. I remember waking up that morning and watching it on TV, and just being absolutely devastated by the horror of it all. And my first thought was "Go over and bomb the bastards till there is nothing left!" And I think there are plenty of countries who will never like the US no matter what we do, so as another poster stated, it's a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation. How about this, what do you think of the operatives that are commiting these black ops? Do you think there has to be a little bit of sociopath in each of them, or are they simply trained to defend our country?

And I have finally met someone with more dogs than me!!:biggrin1: Do they sleep with you at night like my spoiled rotten dogs?

LOL! I would try that, but I have one lab that immediately starts to ham it up when he sees either a camera or a camcorder. He repeatedly jumps about 5-6 feet straight in the air. He is such a clown!! And it would only be worse if treats were involved because he also thinks he is starving to death all the time (even though he could live off his own body fat for a month)...:biggrin1:

So true!! I'll probably take a bunch of criticism for this, but I feel like I see more believers who are hypocrits than not. My ex-husbands family is a perfect example of this. They go to church and think they are better than everyone, but the things that went on behind closed doors with that family were truly atrocious. The same with my sisters mother in law-they are so religious, but she is petty, manipulative, and talks about other people behind their backs all the time.

You make many good points Longhorn, however, I have come to not entirely believe that Grace is a true non-believer after watching the show. I think she simply struggles with her beliefs because of things that happened to her in the past.

Usually with a partial bowel obstruction one will have loose stools, it's the body's way of still trying to "go"-it compensates by loose stools going around the obstruction.

I broke my foot using the treadmill, so I looked for one that had a good, thick tread on it. I had to spend a little more though. But if you can find a used one, it would be more reasonable. I second what someone said about the tread being nice and wide also.

Living-I am glad your surgery went well and that you are feeling ok. Dr. K is great isn't he? Well folks, I just popped my PB cherry awhile ago. It was NOT a fun experience!! It really is a shock collar for your stomach!! I don't even have any desire to eat now!!

I love to shop and I really need to get my head around the fact that I don't need to be spending money on clothes!! I just can't picture myself getting any skinnier at this point....Crazy, I know. I just ordered new scrubs for work yesterday, and originally had them all one size smaller in the cart (I bought them online) and then changed them to my current size. Duh!! Now I will probably have to send them back to exchange for smaller ones. The only thing I am trying to console myself with is that one of the brands I bought always runs small and I always take at least one size bigger in them anyway!!

Laura, You are so funny!! What is wrong with your neighbors, have they not heard of trash cans? Or perhaps they were hit by another trash can bandit? LOL! We had one of our trash cans stolen once also. Why anyone feels the need to do this is beyond me....but it seems to be a fairly common phenomenon!

Well, I just had my first PB, and it was not a fun experience. I had just read a post by Jack that talked about how you get that feeling that you did something wrong after about 2 bites, and that's exactly how it was for me. Two bites, incredible pain, and then PB! There is a gal on OH that has in her signature line "A PB is like the big O-if you have to ask if you did it then you didn't." Boy, you aren't kidding!!

Travelgirl, Hubbys on the way to the store to get mixins for chili as we speak!! He thought your recipe sounded pretty darn good!

I was just on macys.com, and they are having a one day sale today, and I found some AWESOME deals. They have some jeans and sweaters, etc, for between 10.99-14.99!

Just curious if anyone has tried this...I am contemplating buying some, it looks like it gets good reviews, but is a bit pricey...
