  1. That does look amazing. Thanks for the info everyone!
  2. Okay so I feel like I can't talk to my doctors or family about what I'm feeling so I need to vent to you all. I'm just over 6 weeks out. I have lost 22lbs. I'm happy with my weight loss so far but I crave EVERYTHNG and have since day 1. According to my surgeon I'm not supposed to have any carbs or sweets for the first 12-18 months. I get that this stuff is bad for you, really bad, but if I had self control to not eat those things before surgery then I would have done it. I just thought that after surgery cravings and this hunger would go away. I am trying to tell myself that as long as I stay on track 90% of the time that it's okay to have a "cheat day" or even a "cheat meal" Once a week. I'm really fine during the week its just the weekends that get me. Does anyone else feel like this? I just need a little break here and there. I don't want to admit it to anyone, but I sometimes regret my decision. :- /
  3. Has anyone moved off of the pureed stage sooner than 2 weeks, either by doctor guidance or just because you felt it was the right thing to do? I ask because I'm only taking in about 300 calories and 20 grams of Protein per day. I feel like it would be healthier to move on to soft foods to get the proper nutrition.
  4. Oh and good luck tomorrow. Keep us posted on how everything goes.
  5. I figured shrinking the liver wasn't the only thing reason they make you do this. I am happy about the weight I have lost so far though!
  6. Thank you everyone. I feel so much better and back on track today because of your comments. I can do this!
  7. Just had sushi for dinner which was NOT on the preop diet. Bad thing is I want to cheat again. Please tell me I'm not the only one who has cheated...more than once.
  8. After a LONG time of fighting with insurance companies and doctors and I FINALLY have my surgery date. Anyone else out there with and October date that is looking for a surgery buddy??? Please message me if so!
  9. Wow that's great! So glad you are having so much success.
  10. So glad to hear that you are doing well! Seems to be a good amout of weight lost for you so far. Keep up the great work. I actually just got my surgery date today. It's going to be 10/14/15. I know it's a ways off but after all I've been through trying to get it approved I'm just glad to know for sure that it's going to happen.
  11. I found out this morning that my surgeon IS going to be able to go ahead with the surgey and just exclude the liver biopsy. Soooooo happy!!!! I have a few more hoops to jump through, but at least I'm one step closer.
  12. Not yet. I have to find out if they are going to take me first. I'm very happy to hear that there are docs out there that don't require it. I will certainly travel if I need to...although probably not all the way out to OR lol
  13. Great! Well its good to know that there are docs out there that don't require it in case I need to switch. How is everything going for you so far?
  14. Apparently its just part of the surgery. I really have no idea. Are you guys post op?
  15. I just heard from my insurance company (Aetna) about my preapproval for surgery. They have approved the gastric bypass itself, but declined the liver biopsy which is part of the surgery. My doctor said this could stop me from getting the surgery, even if I am willing to pay for the biopsy myself out of pocket. This seems crazy to me. I am just wondering if anyone else has had this same problem and what the resolution was? Thinking I may need to find another surgeon but I really like who I have chosen and want to say with him. Jenna
  16. Wow you have done great! I'm a few months out from my surgery. Any advise or things you would have done different?
  17. I was recently denied for gaining two lbs during my 6 month period. I have Aetna. I would say you best bet is to just lose a little or stay the same. Apparently they are very picky!
  18. I'm also in the same area and am actually using the same doctor. I live in Plant City. I am pre-op and looking for someone to meet up with and talk things over. Would you be up to meeting up sometime?
  19. Help! In January my insurance (Aetna) declined my pre-authorization for the surgery because I had gained a few pounds (on and off, 5 at the most) during the 6 month diet monitoring period. They told me I would have to start my 6 month diet monitoring over again and resubmit. My 3rd appt for the second 6 month monitoring period is coming up and I'm up in weight from last month. I have been sick and not able to stay on top of the dieting and exercising recently. I am feeling better now and have started with the diet and am joining a gym tomorrow, but I fear it might be too late. I started this process last June and I am losing hope that this will ever happen. Has anyone else gone through something similar? Any suggestions on how to hang on or keep hope? Thank you! Jenna
  20. I am interested to know if you had to have a drainage tube put in for your surgery.
  21. So far I am leaning toward the sleeve. Only because I was origionally going to do the band but was hearing horrible things about it and just wanted to do the next step up. I have done all of the pre-reqs and finally meet with the surgeon a week from tomorrow so I will see what he says and make my final decision from there. Thank you so much for all of your responses. This is a great group to be part of.
  22. What made you choose the Gastic Bypass rather than the Sleeve? Also I currently weigh 260...am I heavy enough? Thank you in advance, Jenna
  23. Why did you choose this surgery over the Gastric Sleeve? Also my starting weight is 260...am I heavy enough for this?
