  1. My left shoulder pain is finally gone. What I am dealing with now is sharp stabbing pain near my port. I have been told it the nerves and muscles need to repair from surgery. So I am giving it more time to see if that is the case. I cannot wait until I am feeling back to normal.:clap2:
  2. I also had left shoulder pain after surgery and I still have some. They say it will eventually go away. I can say mine has diminished alot since right after surgery but it is still there. I was told it was from the gas used during surgery.
  3. Hi........I was banded on October 15, 2007 and my port is on the left side and that is where I have the sharp pain that last for 5-10 seconds. The Dr. says it is normal and it is the healing process but I don't know if I believe him. There are times I almost double over because of the intensity of the pain. It makes no difference if I have ate prior or if it has been hours. Has anyone else had this and if so what are you doing to overcome the discomfort. I find a heating pad helps but I can't take one of them to work.
  4. My banding went good. I had lots of left shoulder discomfort which I knew was a possibility. I was not passing the gas they wanted so I had to stay in the hospital 2 nights and then I went home. I feel good for the most part, the discomfort I have now is where the port incision is (3"). I want to lose 90# and I am soooo ready for this adventure! Best of luck to those of you waiting for your day to come.
  5. I am getting banded Monday and I am looking forward to the new me!:clap2: I am still nervous about it all but I am thinking positive.
  6. My first appt. was the first week of July and I had to meet with a dietician once a month for 3 months, do the psysc. eval. and a Bariatic Surgery Prep Class and then get approved from insurance. My banding is scheduled for October 15.
  7. Hi everyone, I am being banded on October 15 and on Monday I start a low calorie liquid diet for 2 weeks. Any suggestions as to a variety of foods I can try? How about meats, did any of you puree them? :help: I sure hope I am making a good choice by going through this procedure. I have been overweight many years and I do want a new life.
