    Before/after Update

Thank you! Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using the BariatricPal App
  2. Hi all...it's been a while since I've been here. Just wanted to give a before/after update. O had my surgery June, 2014. My highest weight was 270, and my lowest has been 188...I'm now at 210-212. It's a struggle everyday, but my goal is to get back under 200 lbs. I've kicked up my cardio and added some weight training...The first pic was taken May, 2012 and the other May, 2016...Not bad but still have some work to do..Staying encouraged! 3. It's been a while since I've been on BP...I am happy to report that I am down a total of 72 lbs. since my surgery on June 16th and I am OFFICIALLY out of the 200's!!! YAAAAS!!! I am still so excited about this journey. It's been/it IS hard but I am so glad I did this! I am loving the changes to my body (excess skin and all--don't have a lot, tho)! Just had to update!! Have a wonderful day!
  4. Had my surgery on 6-16-14...As of today, I am officially down 49 lbs!!! I'll take that!!! I was afraid I was gaining because I've been umm let's say "modifying" my diet plan AND I'm not exercising as much as I should. I've been stuck at 223/224 for the past 3 weeks...However, I got on the scale this morning (normal weighing-in day) and I was down to 219.6!! I am officially out of the 20's!! YAY ME!!!!
  5. Scariest "episodes"...I went on a close to 5 mile walk this morning. I got home and began to take a shower when all of a sudden the room started spinning and everything got quiet and blurred...I have NEVER experienced this feeling before. I hopped out the shower to call 911 but couldn't find my phone...all I could think to do next was to eat something (and pray)...well I went for a piece of string cheese but couldn't get the wrapper off...I thought I was dying because I became so weak that I fell to the floor. Thank GOD that I was still able to think a bit because where I fell was a case of my protein drinks!!!! I was able to open and guzzle some down...I instantly started feeling better. I can only assume that my blood sugar had dropped from exercising on an empty stomach. Calling my nurse, tho, cuz I don't E V E R...never ever never want to feel that way again!
  6. Yeah, I am also Type 2...I will most definitely take your advice Kltklass...That was very scary!
  7. ....down 30 lbs!!!! YAAAAS HUNTY!!!!
  8. Thought today was going to be hard with all this food around me but surprisingly I am not wanting/craving anything..it really is a mental thing. Learning to co-exist. #justthinkingoutloud
  9. OK, so I've been lurking for a while and just wanted to jump in. I was just sleeved on Monday, June 16th--woot woot!! The first couple of days were a little rough--gas pains and drainage tube were the worse. Once the gas subsided and tube removed I felt 85% better! Four days out and I'm feeling pretty good. Having a hard time getting my Water down but I' m working on it. Incisions are healing pretty well. Haven't had much of an appetite but I I tried chicken broth today--we'll see how well that stays down/in. Had to go in for blood work on yesterday and all my labs came back perfect so I'm well on my way. Excited about the journey going forward. Just wanted to share!

    Time to Stop Lurking

Thanks everyone! I am just the opposite with the Water..I can no longer drink Crystal Light. Tried it in the hospital and it was so sweet that I couldn't get it down. Maybe it was the flavoring. I'm on my way now to get SF Popsicles.. I did really well with the broth, by the way...staying down/in...but could only drink about three/four teaspoons...will try again later.
