  1. I am still having some "discomfort" on my left side, but other than that, I haven't had any other complications. I don't ever have the burping which is good and bad I guess. I go for my 1 week check-up tomorrow. I am excited to see how much I have lost since last week.
  2. I have been having some weird pains too, but not where you are cQQlgirl. I guess I just figure it is part of the whole process of healing. I know that they coterized (sp?) inside us, so maybe it is pulling on those areas when we move weird or sit weird. Don't know....just wondering. I have really been trying not to take pain meds. but do take some at night. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
  3. Me too!!!! Farting has become one of my most treasured moments! I haven't had to burp at all. I think that would really hurt!!! Still feel like I have been punched in the stomach, but getting so much better every day!
  4. Hi all.... Day 4 for me and I am sooo much better. Actually, the turning point for me was yesterday afternoon. I still have some gas pain, but moving and walking help a lot. I am so happy to move on to full liquids, enough already of the clears! Cream soup and sugar free/fat free ice cream have tasted great. I also do like the Special K Protien drink. My DH and I are traveling to Colorado this afternoon for a quick business/family get together. I am kind of nervous about the travel (6 1/2 hrs) and the eating out part of the weekend, but will do my best to stick to the rules. I am so very happy to be banded and now that the worst is over, Life is Good! Hugs---Jackie
  5. I was also banded on the 15th. So glad it is over and now it's time to get on with my life!! I still have a little shoulder pain and some gas, but over all am feeling much better today. Would love to hear from others who were banded on the 15th.
  6. Hi All... I was banded on Monday the 15th. I have been having a lot of trouble with gas. I can't figure out if it is from the gas they injected or the fact that I haven't eaten anything solid for two weeks. When I get up and move around, it helps alot, but then come right back when I sit down. I feel like I can feel the lap band.....do I?????? The pain is pretty much what I expected and am not on any pain meds. I am so happy to be on this side of the banding process! Hugs!
  7. cQQlgirl, Your story is very inspiring. I can't say that I have ever been where you were, but my life HAS had it's ups and downs...most of it related to my addiction...food! My God Bless you on your new journey starting tomorrow. Please say a prayer for me tomorrow also. Hugs, Jackie
  8. Good luck tomorrow CQQlgirl! I have done fairly good on the pre-op liquid diet. Today is hard because I can ONLY have Clear liquids. I am so ready to chew, chew, chew!! :Banane10: So far I have lost 11 lbs. as of today. I agree with you...the thought of more liquid dieting after tomorrow is depressing! But, it will so be worth it. Yes, God will see us through this....he always has a plan for us and we just need to have faith. BTW...what is a body bugg??? And where did you get it?? Hugs--Jackie
  9. Good Luck to all of us who are getting banded tomorrow the 15th. I will prayer for you all.
  10. Well said Topdownbug!! This journey is not easy. I want to shout that to everyone who thinks it is the easy way out! I get banded tomorrow. :clap2: I am thrilled, nervous, thinking...what am I doing, etc. But I am determined to go through with this. The most scarey thing is the total life change this will be. :nervous Food impacts a large part of our lives, and now it won't be. How strange. I think I have everything ready for the big day. This morning I shaved my armpits and legs!! :Banane10: Good luck to all 15th bandsters. I will be thinking of you all tomorrow. :Banane10: Hugs---Fluffinks
  11. It is so wonderful to see all the pictures. You know....we really don't look that fat!! I think we are a pretty cute group. BTW...noticed that you all mentioned pets...I forgot to report that I have 3 great dogs, a bichon, a poddle and a beagle who is still a puppy. Hugs---Jackie
  12. Hi All.... Here is the picture of me! It was taken on a cruise that my DH and I took to Alaska with my dad, sibs and spouses. I just loved those sticky buns! I had to have my son help me with downloading the picture. I pride myself on being some what computer savy, but I do have to ask for help from time to time!! :embarassed: Hugs, Jackie
  13. I took before pictures too. I can't wait to see where I came from when I am where I want to be. Maybe someday I will show them to others, but not now.
  14. Here goes for me!! My name is Jackie and I live in Hutchinson, Ks. I have been married almost for 30 years and I am almost 50! (Yikes!) I am 5'5" and starting weight is 243. My husband and I love to travel which we do as often as we can. (I can't wait to wear the "cute" clothes when we go!) We have 3 grown children: a daughter who is 27 and not married but looking, a daughter who is 24 who is married to the most wonderful guy, and a son (22) who is a Sr. at KU! :whoo: I love to read, quilt, visit my kids and go boating with my dear husband. We have a boat and a cabin at Table Rock Lake in Mo. where we spend a lot of our time. I do not like to exercise but know that it is important. As soon as I figure out how to send a picture, I will make sure to send one! :faint: Haha! Thanks for starting this thread and especially all those pictures. It makes everyone seem more real. :girl_hug:Hugs---Jackie
