  1. I was banded on 10/13/08 and waited 4 months til my first fill on 2/19/09. I lost 30 lbs but then gained 5 for a net loss of 25 lbs by the time of the first fill. I dropped that 5 lbs over the last 2 days. Just follow the rules and your doctor's advice. Everyone and every doc is different. This isn't a race. It's a lifestyle change. Good luck!
  2. I was banded on 10/13 and my dietician wants me on 1,000 calories per day. I am currently on full liquids and started mushies yesterday (10/24) such as Eggbeaters and cottage cheese. Will add a new mushie each day.
  3. I had the surgery this morn (Monday) and am at home. Everything went well and I feel good (due to the pain meds, of course). The barium didn't taste that bad during the x-ray. Loved the hospital staff - St. Peters Medical Center in New Brunswick, NJ, and Dr. Bertha was wonderful. Godspeed and good health to all of us bandsters!
  4. I too am less than 24 hours from my surgery. I am looking forward to it. Am on a clear liquid diet today. This is a wonderful beginning to the rest of my life. The goal is good health. Best of luck to you phlippr.
  5. I called my dr's office first. They called me back to advise of the ins approval. Two days later I received a letter from my insurer confirming the coverage. Call your dr's office and see what the status is.
  6. I have Horizon BCBS of New Jersey. It took a week to get approval. The speed may depend on the documentation you provide of your past weight loss efforts. Good luck!
