  1. Hi guys, I'm 12 weeks out from my sleeve and a month back into marathon training, and I'm having real trouble fuelling. At least I think it's fuelling, right now I'm still running at the same bloody pace I was running my marathons at when I was 18kgs heavier. I went out for a 10 miler today and I had to put walk breaks in as I was tired, and my pace was just so slow. This is not normal for me (the slow is, the walk breaks, not so much). My next marathon is in 7 weeks I am worried about how I'm going to do this, my body feels less able than it was pre-surgery. Some context, I've been running marathons for 7 years, so I know how I normally perform, how are others fuelling for endurance events? Before? During? Post / recovery?
  2. I was wondering how soon, post surgery, people were able to return to their regular level or physical activity? I'm a runner and triathlete (yesterday I ran my last ever 'fat marathon' no more 220lb marathons for me) I'm panicking at the thought of not being able to do any exercise for weeks at a time. I worry that I won't lose any weight. How has everyone else managed it? How soon can I cycle, run, do weights again? I see that I can swim soon after..... What a shame I am 45lb too fat for my wetsuit. :-( I'm so looking forward to my next marathon in October.... To know that I won't have bleeding from my chaffing thighs, to know I won't have to carry this massive weight around 26.2 miles anymore. I want to finish in a time that my brain wants to, not what my body allows me to.
