  1. I just had my band on Tuesday, my insurance would not pay and it cost me $17500. That includes all followup for a year with fills included. I am doing fine. I am having a hard time getting water to go down but I am on full liquids and most of the pain is gone. My BMI was 43 but insurance still said no. Where are you having it done at? I know lots of people go to Mexico, it is a lot cheaper. I had it done at WTLSC in Overland Park, KS. They were great. Good luck on your new life and we will talk soon.
  2. I just got my band yesterday. I feel pretty good. Not much pain with the incisions. The pain in my neck is worse the way they had me on the or table. I was real nervous too but it was a lot easier than I thought.
  3. Thanks everyone for your support. My husband is pretty supportive but worried. I will probably be more nervous on Monday but right now I feel pretty good. I tried last year to have my insurance pay but they said no way and it has taken me a year to save up the money. So had to start over from the beginning but now I'm almost there and looking forward to a new beginning. Let everyone know how it goes. Will be back home on the 26th. Sheila.
  4. Hi everyone. I am getting banded on Sept 25. I am self pay so process went very quickly. From initial consult to surgery will be only 4 weeks. I am 53 and tired of trying everything to lose weight. My BMI is 43.
