  1. Hi you guys!! Thanks for all your help!! Got banded 9/17. Suffered a lot days 1 and 2 with gas/bloating and a general feeling of what in the world did I do to myself. I was off my pain meds...but the bloating and discomfort was HORRID!. Ok so now its been a week...forget liquids i've been eating normal (well not steaks and chicken etc) but like rice and went to chipotle etc...no problems. Eating a little less..chewing a lot more but still do I already need a fill..??am i going to strech my pouch...?? I ate some pasta...and it went down fine. I am ready to start eating less.... I went back to work today...just dont want to get back into the same old mode of eating.... was everyone here on total liquids...did no one start on solids late 1st week? Thanks. Meg
  2. He did mine on Sept 17th. Went ok but because of insurance reasons I had to go all the way to Decatur (1.5 hours away). I think for post-op care I can go to richardson...that is closer. Anyone else in the same boat? Megan
  3. I slowly started to talk to some friends in general about the lapband and got various opinions and expertise thrown at me. Like it was a poor choice...excercise and diet would be better etc. Some gals at work have tried and have been rejected by insurance, so they are bitter as well. I have just shared with my hubby...who at first was like do you have to do something so drastic.,,,but then he was on board with me. Have not told immediate family...even my 12 year old. Folks at work thing I am out for Dental work...since after than I can logically be on liquid and mush diet. Do not know how long I can keep it up. Megan.:car:

  5. Thanks so much you guys!!...I tried heating pad and walking...as yall suggested...and slowly the bloating is going down. Whew! feels so good. Unfortunately, now I feel like I am coming down with allergies, am coughing and clearing my throat a lot, and am worried. Having to hold my tummy everytime i cough. I am sure someone has written about it on the forum, I have just not chanced on it yet... Thank you all again!! each day gets better!!. Megan.:car:
  6. Hello all, I am brand new to this...I read some of the posts but not exhaustively. I am just glad you guys are there going thru the same journey and helping others along with your experiences. I had my lap band done, on 9/17 and its now the 19th. I am I would say doing fairly well, but gosh the bloating and discomfort is really making me scared. How long will this last? I took Gas X..but no relief. When do bowel movements happen. How long were you on pain medication? I feel my pain is bearable. Although where the port is hurts the most. But its the bloating that's driving me crazy....any help will be appreciated.:help: Thanks. Megan
