  1. Hello there! The only person that knows about my band is my super supportive husband. I felt so bad about not telling my mom, as we share everything. But, I had a feeling she would be against it. Especially since I had to pay everything out of pocket. =0( My family is starting to see that I'm losing weight and are so tickled. My uncle asks me how I'm doing it...I tell him that I'm off of most of my medicines now (which I am) and I drink a lot more water and watch what I eat! I didn't lie one bit! I doubt I'll tell anyone unless I absolutely have to =0) It's just something I want to keep to myself....and my husband. Thanks for reading!
  2. Hello there from Kentucky! I haven't been on here since December! I was banded on October 4th of 2007. I've had 2 fills in the larger 10cc band I believe. So far, things have been good. I have to admit that my weight loss would probably be more if I'd exercise on a daily basis. That's my new goal! We have a treadmill at home and we've also joined the YMCA. Overall, I'm tickled with my success. It's so nice that my clothes are feeling loose! And to see the scales go down is such a joy! I look forward to getting on here more often....it really gets us motivated to read others stories!
  3. Hi, I was banded on October 3rd and just had my first fill today. I've been doing great. I was banded in West Chester, OH by Dr. Mobley. Have a great day and God Bless......
  4. I was banded on October 3rd and just had my first fill today. I was so nervous about going but it wasn't bad at all. My doctor said that I had a little bit of fluid in my 10cc band from surgery. He placed 3cc in the band today, had me drink water in the office to make sure it went down okay. Everything was great! I haven't had any trouble with my band as of yet and pray that everything stays great. Best wishes to all of you. God Bless......
  5. I too had the same exact feelings. My husband was with me before the surgery on Oct. 3rd. I remember being in the room telling him that maybe I should not do it. I'd already had my IV and everything to start the whole process. I was so nervous and second-guessing myself even though I knew that this was the best thing for me and my family. I prayed so long about it. Everything went just fine.....I have to admit though, I had a crying moment yesterday when I thought, "Can I just have them take it back out?" Can you believe that? But I believe it's close to that time of month and you know how our hormones get! I was a mess.....now today, I'm having lots of happy thoughts! Things have gone great, absolutely GREAT. I only have some pain below my port-incision now. I've been up and at'em since the 2nd day! So, I know where you're coming from.....I'll say an extra prayer for you and I can say, you're doing the right thing! Take Care and God Bless......talk to you soon!
  6. I'm so excited to see all of the October Bandsters. I was banded on October 3rd.....I'm new to this site but I can't wait to read all of the encouraging posts! God Bless and have a lovely night.....
  7. Hello from Kentucky! I was banded on October 3rd and feel very good. I still have some pain....not necessarily at my port incision but right under it. I believe it will go away with time. I'm feeling wonderful other than that and can't wait to see these results! I'm a stay-at-home-mom of two little boys and I believe having this surgery will make our lives so much better. I'll be happier and a better mom and wife.
  8. Well, the surgery is over! I'm so anxious I can't stand it. Right now I'm sore of course, but it's so worth it. I believe the soreness will go away one day at a time. I look forward to reading your comments and having your support all along the way! Best Wishes and God Bless.....~Renee in ky
