don't feel bad about venting ever!! that's what we are all here for, to support each other! I can see how it would happen when you just keep losing.. this band is friggin awesome! I would never move my kids.. once they started kindergarten we stayed put. I went to 14 different schools and hated having to constantly make new friends. My girls have had the same friends since they were babies.. once they are in college though now that's another story lol..

hopeful hanner
Hello and welcome to the banding club! This will be the hardest two weeks but remember this will lead to a new life for you.. a life of no dieting a life of being healthier and happier. You can do this and stick to the pre op diet the reason they do that is to shrink your liver. If you don't stick to the diet they could cancel your surgery or like my friend go to do the surgery and when they got in there her liver was to large and they closed her up without a band. Shrinking your liver is to your benefit, they need to be able to manipulate in there and if your liver is large they can't risk nicking it and causing a bleed. You can do this!

Good Morning Junies.. I woke up this morning so excited for this day.. I just really have faith that everything is going to be ok. I realize that life happens and you can either roll with it and enjoy the ride or get off and be miserable. I refuse to get off! I am going to be a joyful person no matter what. So I got to work and 3 customers all were complimenting me on how great I looked and I have to tell you that just really pushed me past joyful into exuberant lol. My hubby has been applying for government jobs all over and I know he will get something! Jennifer, I wouldn't move until our youngest daughter graduates next year. I decided to wait and look until he finds something, that way if we have to move I can start looking there. Yesterday was my 10 month bandiversary and it was such a great day. I weighed in and the scale moved it was so awesome! I have lost 124 pounds in 10 months. I am so tickled! Have a great glorious day Junies.. and live life the good and the bad.. be joyful!!!

Melting body and getting naked
hey there.. nothing is sexier than confidence! But I do realize how difficult it can be. My suggestion is keep the lights off :crying: .. I still don't want my hubby to see me naked although he is constantly trying..lol. I feel like after my plastic surgery then I will be naked all the time. Good luck and get some girl!!!

take your own mushies!
try bringing a bean dip that you can eat.. it's going to be tough .. my suggestion is bring something for everyone to eat and make yourself a little side for you.. example bring a tuna macoroni salad and bring a little container of just tuna salad no macaroni for you and say you are staying away from carbs.. :/ I hope that helps .. lol

10 glorious months!
Is it possible that it has only been 10 months? Today is my 10 month anniversary and what a great present I received.. 124 pounds lost!! I am so glad I did this. If I had known 10 months ago that I would have lost this much so quickly I would have not believed it. I am so proud of myself and I am really excited what the next year will bring. God has blessed me sooo greatly!!!

Hello, everyone.
Hey Brett's Mommy~ Congrats on your decision! I too could not lose on conventional diets and I have to say I am not on a diet now. This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself and I know I am a better mom because of it! I wish you many pounds lost and if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me!

Stuck and don"t know how to move on
Hey there.. I have had this happen to me as well, a couple of suggestions I have are.. try 2 days of liquids, 2 days of mushies.. or try and increase excercize time but lower the resistance part. You might also try increasing your caloric intake. Some times your body thinks it is in starvation mode and won't let any of the weight go. If you add calories your body sometimes will let you lose. I did these 3 things at different plateau times and they worked for me. I hope that helps and good luck!!!

the GNC whey protein banana cream is really yummy. I throw a scoop in with 8 oz skim milk and to me it tastes like a banana milkshake.. mmmmm

Should I keep this a secret?
Hey there, I had these same questions pre band.. I ended up telling everyone.. I did it at first to hold myself accountable. By telling everyone I felt I had to really step up and follow the band rules. I wanted to be thin as fast as possible. I have to tell you it worked for me. I also have to say that now I tell everyone because I know they probably already figured it out. To lose over a 120 pounds in less than ten months would be really hard to do without surgery. I try to not tell people but I end up blurting it out. I am not embaressed about it and have not had one negative response. I say whatever makes you comfortable is what you should do. I told my hubby what my weight was at the beginning. I figured that way he could Celebrate with me as I lost. I started at 305 so let me tell you it was tough telling him. But it is so exciting now that I am almost to goal weight. He is super proud! I wish you much success and know that there is no wrong way of doing it. You do what feels right for you. It really doesn't matter in the end if you tell people or not as long as you end up healthy and happy!

hey jennifer.. my hubby was born and raised in Bedford, Va.. I can not live there though.. way to Andy Griffith for me.. :crying: most likely it will be near a naval base since he is looking for a government job. He was checking out Norfolk, gloucester and I think it was richmond. How do you like living in Richmond. That is right in the middle between Bedford and Norfolk right?

Daily News!
Hey Joann.. It's so weird you put that scripture in your post. I have that scripture pinned up on my desk at work. It amazes me how God works. For years we have said that we wanted to move out of Connecticut, but we both had such great paying jobs it would be tough to leave.. well, now with me part time and down about 20 grand a year and Danny's job in jeopardy, we talked today about maybe this is God's plan to give us the push to move. So my hubby is looking for a job in North Carolina or Virginia. If it is God's plan we will be out of here! I would stay until our youngest daughter Jenna graduated from high school next year but then she is off for college. This maybe the door God opened for us. So I am excited that maybe this is what we had wanted all along. I am so glad your hubby is on his way to getting banded!! Great job Joann!!!!! xoxo

I'm new
hey there... well, I have a friend who was supposed to be banded the week before me and she didn't follow the pre op diet as strictly as she definetly should have and when they got in there to put in her band they couldn't do it. Her liver was to large. She had lost weight but not enough. So she had the surgery but didn't receive the band. I had a tough time but stuck to the preop diet. I lost alot in those two weeks and it was pure hell but worth it when I knew that I would be getting banded. I hope that gives you the inspiration to NOT CHEAT.
