  1. I have only heard of that high a Protein requirement on the duodenal switch. The thing with the sleeve is that its only restriction, not malabsorption. So everything will run through the intestines like normal. I couldn't imagine trying to get in 110 protein. I can't even get my Water right now, much less that much extra protein. By the end of my 2 week liquid post op, I am burned out on Protein shakes and ISO. I am SOOO glad I can have tuna, cottage cheese, etc now!
  2. I was told to get a minimum of 70. I have actually had no problem with that, because I use a Premier Protein shake (30) and a 20oz Isopure (40) daily. It's a good thing too, because getting anything else in, including water, has been a huge struggle.
  3. I'm right with you. Pre-op, down 50lbs. Gained 10 in hospital (!), now I'm 16 days out and lost 17. Mind you, 10 of that was hospital fluids. I just met with my surgeon yesterday, and it seems to be a combination of water and calories. I have been pretty short on both. On the full liquids I had only been getting in 300-400 calories per day, and was always short on my water. I am now on pureed, and I am going to try harder on the water and getting in more calories. Hopefully that will kick start something.
  4. Hi! I am scheduled for April 14. I've been on the pre-op diet almost 3 weeks now and I have had my surgery date in place since then. I have been seriously sweating insurance approval, and I just called the office to check on it. I have been approved since last Friday. Arrgghhh! A phone call would've been nice!! I have been (well, probably still am) a nervous wreck, and this pre-op diet really sucks. I hope everyone's surgery goes well! I will be biting whatever nails I have left for a few more days
