  1. Hello Everyone, Well first of all I would like to thank my Dr's offce for introducing me to these websites I am hoping to have my surgery in October and if everything goes according to plan it will happen......I been on my diet for a month and lost 7 lbs, it doesn't sound like much but to me it is because I was at a standstill in my weight. I am just keeping focused and trying very hard to be good and not eat what I shouldn't which is hard but I know I have to stay positive because this is my health I am talking about!! I want to be around for as long as the Lord lets me but also enjoying doing activities that I could not before. So good luck to all who will be having the surgery before me.....

    2014 October Surgery

Hello all, Been awhile since I been on here but do read all that is written ☺. Anyway got the results from my EGD n looks like I will have to have my gallbladder removed before the surgery.....which might delay my Oct surgery. Still gotta get an upper GI before they make plans to remove it so.....just gotta stay focused.
  3. My Dr. told me that I would have to give up my diet cokes after the surgery!!! I gave it up for Lent however I didn't know it was going to be the rest of my life!!! I am trying to have it only occassionally because I need to learn to live without drinking my favorite drink! I don't drink alcohol anymore and the only coffee I can drink is Carmel Frappuccino Light....and it took me all my life to find any kind of drink with coffee in it but my husband said just try it......so now he's got to support my habit. I am hoping to lose the desire of it like most of you all did.....

    2014 October Surgery

Hello Everyone, Well I am starting my sixth week of dieting and it is not going to good, yes I slipped and ate more of things that I shouldn’t have but I am now refocused and know I need to change my eating habits, yes it’s hard but I have to think of my health….my family, my life and I need to stay positive!!! I have to research healthy snacks because when I am at work I tend to get hungrier…..at home not so much. I guess the lucky thing is they took out the vending machine here at work which contained a lot of candy, chips, etc….. So bring on the healthy snacks and good healthy food…..
  5. Wow, reading all these posts really made me think of what was “the straw that broke the camel’s back”.....it was a whole lot of the same reasons as what I was reading! But some of the main reasons are…..the pain in my knees from arthritis and that the Dr said knee replacements would have to be considered soon cause they are really bad......Being diabetic and reaching the point of having to be on insulin, the one think I never wanted to do....Getting out of breath just walking a short distance while sweating profusely and my face all shiny and red.....embarrassing!!!.....Going to my granddaughters concerts at the school auditorium and having to wait in the hall for good seats and being in so much pain from standing and then it being a very tight squeeze in the chairs so I limited myself to at least 1 concert for each of my granddaughters. It broke my heart not going but they said “it’s ok grandma” but maybe they were embarrassed of me and so it didn’t matter to them but to me it meant the world to me…..I want to be around to see all of them grow up and start families of their own….of course after graduating high school and collage! That is when I made the decision to do something about my weight and started researching the web about the procedure. I met with the Dr. on April 1, 2014 and he was wonderful, I felt comfortable with him and his staff…..so I started my 6 month diet (insurance policy) which is going good and hopefully have the surgery in October 2014…..
  6. I also need to be on a diet for 6 months....I am trying to change my eating habits also. What my plan is before I get closer to doing the two week liquid diet is to slowly start doing a day here and there then work my way up to doing it more than one day at a time so hopefully it wont be as hard when the time comes......Yes it can be hard but now my whole family is starting to eat more healthier and that helps. I also try to walk around our complex but I have arthritis in both my knees which make it more difficult.....
  7. My Dr's office actually gave me these websites.....which i am so thankful for. I just started my six month diet this past Sunday and actually looking forward to see if I can lose weight this time....yeah I know you shouldn't give up but sometimes it can be frustrating! Reading these posts make me see things differently and in a good way. Has anyone else feel more hungrier when they are at work and not at home? That was a big problem for me!
