  1. I am also April 23rd. Unfortunately, there was a problem with my bloodwork so I am really hoping that does not delay things. My pre surgical diet as not as strict as others. I still get to chew a little. Breakfast is a Protein shake, I have been doing Premier Protein. Mid morning snack is a fruit (apple, pear or orange). lunch is a tossed salad with leafy greens, any non starchy vegetables, 6 oz of lean protein and 2 TBS of sugar free dressing. Mid afternoon snack is a fruit. dinner is a Protein Shake. Evening snack is also a protein shake. I also need to drink 64oz of Water a day. I am so excired for this new way of life, I cannot wait!
  2. I am schedualed for April 23rd. I got my insurance approval yesterday. Unfortunately, there was a problem with my blood work, something to do with clotting. My doctors office us mailing me a new prescription to have new blood work done at a lab. Really hoping surgery can happen as planned on the 23rd.
  3. I am also in NY and scheduled for the 23rd!! It feels like the time is flying now!! Good luck to you!! I have had all my testing done and have my pre op appt with the hospital this Friday! How exciting! I have a bunch of testing this week. My upper endoscopy, strees test and echocardiogram. Best of luck to you and all of the other April sleevers! Tomorrow is April 1st! We are all getting so close!
  4. I saw Dr. Gadaleta, I really liked him but he required A LOT of pre testing and I became very overwhelmed. I also did not find his staff to be very helpful. I have heard that he is an excellent doctor. I am also in Nassau County but I am now having my surgery in Suffolk. I am going with a doctor that my friend used. The experience is so much easier even with the long commute. The surgeions name is Arif Ahmad and he works out of Mather Hospital in Port Jeff. I went to his seminar in mid February, My consultation was March 11th. He does a lot of the pre surgical appointments right in his office. I am doing the nutritionist, Psych., Pulmonologist, bloodwork, and sonogram all in one day. Then the upper endoscopy another day. The only other appointment I had to make myself was a cardiologist. When I went for the consult I was given a surgery date of 4/23. I have been looking into this for years so I feel I am ready to have it done asap.
  5. Hi Steph! My surg date was April 30 and found out today since I'm done with all my test, only need final nutrition class which is April 4...now my surg date has been moved up to April 23!!! I'm super pumped and excited! Best wishes on your wls journey! My original date was April 28th. I then realized that we have tickets to see Les Mis on Broadway on April 30th. I was so upset that I thought I was going to have to push the surgery out until May. When I called and found out I could have the 23rd of April I was thrilled!
  6. I'm so excited! Happy to be here. I am Stephanie, from New York and I was just given my surgery date. April 23rd! I am really hoping all of my pre surgical testing goes smoothly and we can continue on with his date.
